Aw, ya know? I was once in a place where he also was, and there were some little kids over by the fence just watching him like they were watching Superman, or something. No parents with them, at the moment, or anything, and he saw them, and stopped what he was doing, and went over there, and just talked to them for a long time. Those kids just about jumped out of their skin with excitement. No cameras trained on him, no "for the paparazzis" thing, just genuine warmth and a kindness towards these little guys that ... I dunno, touched me, his "generosity of spirit" I guess. :)

It's so easy for us -- ALL of us -- to make snap judgments about people from what we read about them here and there, but sound bytes and snapshots do not a person make. "Media image" yes. "Celebrity" yes, but not a person.

Granted, he probably has been a decent fellow at many times. But like it or not, he is a public figure who necessarily must watch what he says.
