Hugh Dancy cast in NBC’s Hannibal as FBI agent made famous in Thomas Harris novels Series will reveal origin of serial killer made famous by Anthony Hopkins in 'The Silence of Lambs'

Hugh Dancy is going to the dark side.

The British actor has been cast as a FBI agent Will Graham, who is chasing the titular cannibalistic serial killer in NBC's upcoming series, "Hannibal", Deadline.com reports.

The "Our Idiot Brother" star's character was previously played by Ed Norton in the 2001 adaption of the Thomas Harris novel, "Red Dragon."

The series is already signed to a 13-episode order from NBC, has also signed on "Pushing Daises" writer Bryan Fuller and Martha DeLaurentiis, who produced the 2001 adaption as well as the 2007 sequel.

Dancy, who lives in New York and is married to Claire Danes, has most recently appeared on the Showtime sreies, "The Big C".

The British actor is also well known for his turn in “Black Hawk Down” and was nominated for an Emmy for his role in HBO’s "Elizabeth I."
