I am a self-proclaimed germ-phobe. We wash hands often in my house, I carry anti-bacterial wipes in my car and make everyone strip their clothes when we return home from the movie theater. I'm wondering what other germ-phobes do to protect their families.

    I work in a pet store handling crickets, mice, rats, feeder fish and tons of kittens with viral infections, ringworm occasionally, fecal parasites, lice, mites - you name it I've probably been around it so I wash when I can and don't worry about it. The last couple of times I have been ill I've caught it from my great grandson, a virus that became a sinus infection, a 24-hour virus and the last time I was ill it was food poisoning - being too clean you never get exposed enough to germs/viruses to build up any type of natural immunity.

    I pay attention to what I come in contact with and try to be sure and not bring those potential germs into my mouth etc. Bathroom handles get the paper towel treatment when I'm leaving, Sandwichs are handled with napkins when hand wash isn't readily available, but I also spend weeks on end living out of a travel trailor when vactioning and have no problem dealing with the "germ world" out there...hehe I just spent a week in Honduras on a mission trip and managed to come home without any sickness or disintary so I must be doing something right... world hehe spent week honduras mission managed home sickness disintary
    ~~~My friends took this picture of me at the mall...I like to dress casual, people are more comfortable around me then...~~~
    February and there are some pictures mixed into my media file of my trip and what we were doing......My only regret is that I didn't start going on these mission typ trips sooner...."mission" is a little misleading, because all we really did was work ....the people we were helping aer already ten times more religious and faithful than me anyway....faith runs to the core in third world countries...me, i was busy flurting with a young lady who was on the same mission I was on....yeah I'm the holy one here...LOL http://www.fao.org/docrep/x44... flurting young lady mission yeah holy lol httpwww fao orgdocrepx44
    I'm not so bad except when I use public restrooms. don't want to touch anything and am really careful using the paper towels to turn the faucets on and off and open the door when leaving. I have seen too many people walk out of restrooms without even looking at the sink. To me that's gross. At home i wash after I use the facilities and always before cooking.
    LOL! Good point. Although, to comfort your mind a bit...I recently heard from a doctor that it is VERY hard to catch anything from a toilet seat. They are actually thought to be dirty so they are cleaned more often than other objects. So...you can relax a bit more in that dirty stall. : )
    I'm really not much of a germaphobe. Because I work in a high school there are some extra things I do just because some others are more sensitive/susceptable. For instance I bring a large container of anti bacterial wipes to school and a few times a week I wipe down the phone, door knobs and desks in the resource room that I work in. Otherwise, washing hands is about it. I've always been fairly healthy and feel germs are necessary to build up our resistence.
    I'm a total germaphobe, can't stand the thought of them. I wash and wipe the tops of my soda cans before I open and drink from them, especially the little crease between the lip of the can and top of it (that's where the most germs hide). I also bought a bottle-top that goes over the top of my soda can so I can re-seal it after everytime I take a drink. I have to blow out my straws after I take the wrapper off. I'll get a clean cup out of the cabinet and inspect it, then even if I don't see anything I'll rinse it out before I drink from it. If I buy a fountain drink I usually take about four to six cups out then take the one most inside. I wash my hands before, and after: eating, going to the bathroom, working outside, working with tools, bathing my kids, clipping finger or toenails, or using this computer at work. I won't drink or eat after ANYBODY, not my wife, kids, nobody. I shower everyday, and whenever I have sex, regardless if I already showered that day. I flush my sinuses every morning, and spit/blow my nose if I catch a bad odor (don't ask). So yeah, just a little bit of a germaphobe!!! sex showered flush sinuses spitblow nose catch odor yeah germaphobe
    I'm a freshman in college, and in my bio lab yesterday we had to work with DNA. Basically, they were playing with spit the whole time while I sat in the corner and tried my hardest not to vomit everywhere! I don't like germs...hand sanitizer is my best friend!
    I always wash my hands when I return from grocery shopping... those shopping carts can get pretty nasty!
    I have a container of germicidal jelly stuff nearby at all times. Not "spermicidal" jelly....GERMICIDAL...we come into contact with so many goobs who cannot comprehend, spell or understand "hygiene"......so it has worked out very good for me by compensating for those goobs....it has helped me reduce colds and flu....
