Fresh off her gold medal win with the U.S. Women's soccer team, Hope Solo has released an autobiography. “Solo: A Memoir of Hope” covers her impressive career on the field, her shattered childhood caused by an imprisoned father and even her stint on “Dancing with the Stars.” And it is this last bit of pop culture fodder that has the Internet buzzing.

In the book, Solo claims her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy pushed her, whacked her and, in general, treated her roughly. She writes, "I thought that was just how it went – how dancers worked with each other." So she suffered in silence for a bit. But she goes on to say that when Chmerkovskiy allegedly slapped her across the face to get her to turn her head, officials offered her a new partner. She declined, afraid of coming off as the villain.
On the dancing show, the Ukrainian champion is known for his bad-boy antics, but they have been limited to flying off the handle at partners during rehearsals or talking back to the judges during the show. The dancer has not commented except on Twitter, saying, "Always hated hypocrites and liars... but when someone is both AND an opportunist, I just feel bad for them. Can't win at someone's expense." What do you think: Is Maks too much of a bad boy or are Hope’s recollections exaggerated?

Believable

Arrogant does not mean he's a man who slaps women around; it could just mean he's a jerk--which can be anyone, but that does not mean they hit people.
And I do not know him at all, but he looks kind sleazy, in the way dorky guys try to look slick and it comes out as sleazy.. Someone who watches the show can tell me if I am wrong about him. lol
Must have been a hard man to hit a woman, i wonder if he would have hit a man bigger than him!
Manhandled? Doubtful. But since the dances they do require a lot of physicality and a lot of falls and a lot of close contact, he MAY well have bumped her. Doubt the rest of it.
