Former Playboy model Holly Madison, best known as one of Hugh Hefner's three simultaneous (now ex) girlfriends, is hoping to adopt a baby. "I’ve started the adoption process … I really want to be a mommy," Holly Madison, 33, tells In Touch.

holly madison

Holly and Hef split in 2008; she later dated magician Criss Angel. But it looks like Holly is not planning to wait any longer for Mr. Right to come around. According to the mag, she's working with adoption mentoring service Hold My Hand, and hopes to adopt a child from Africa or South Korea. Good for her!

As for why she's adopting, Holly says she simply has no time to be pregnant. “I love performing in the theater, and you can’t really do that when you’re pregnant," the former "Girl Next Door" says. Kudos to Holly for giving a child a better life. Do you think the former Playboy model will be a good mom?

I'm sure she'll be a good mother, but there's soooo many kids in America that need to be adopted too...she doesn't need an exotic one...

    Exotic?

from other countries that she can tote around and say 'i saved a child'...save one of the thousands in the US first...I know of a ton of kids that grew up in orphan ranches and facilities that would have loved a parent or two....

Of coarse there are. I was only commenting on the usage of the word "exotic". To me, I'm only saying to me, it sounds like something rare and precious. We have way too many children here who need parents. Especially older children who are looked over. Yes, there are children overseas who need families and dont stand a chance of adoption by the criticlly poor adults that live there. I think our own should come first because this is my country. The famous don't get the notority for adopting a child here and I think that stinks. Brad and Angelina adopt from Ft Lauderdale! Nope, too many questions about the birth mother and father. Too much negative speculation. Not good marketing. A child overseas? Poor that's all people think. Pathetic isn't it? I've been legal guardian to two girls who are friends of my daughters because both parents are drug users and that's all they care about. The parents are thankless but I could care less. Seeing these girls thrive, laugh, and sleep peacefully at night is my reward. I love them and they are important. They matter. So, Goregirl, I'm not disagreeing. Just questioning and only questioninng the word 'exotic". Not even inferring it was wrong. Just questioning. By the way I LOVE gory movies and books.

Oh ok, I was using exotic as a form of 'fashion accessory that no one else has'. Also no one stops to think, but in Africa and Asia especially, children are either sold to agencies or stolen from their homes in order for the kidnappers/owners to make more money from overseas parents. It sad. And very nice on the gory movies and books haha.

I am not sure if anyone is suited to being a fit mother. If she can provide love and food and shelter for a child in need, then she should be given the opportunity.

Alright I looked. I know her reputation as a Hef girl. But I don't know her personally, nor could I validate her as a slut. My mom left me and my dad was a drunk. Does that make me bad, less of a person, or even a victim? I'm a mother of 3 girls and the guardian of two other teenage girls. I love and nurture them all. Nobody ever said I couldn't be a parent with my background. Thank God! Don't be so quick to judge unless your personally close to the people involved.

Well the foster systems in Africa and South Korea are in much worse state than those in the US, so while an orphan in the US wouldn't have a great life, they wouldn't be forced into child prostitution or thrown onto the streets, like in Africa or South Korea.

Also, it is easier to adopt from poorer countries and a child is a child wherever they're from.

Children actually get a chance in American with foster homes and get a lot of help.
    In other country they don't.

Why not someplace else. A child in need is a child in need. How do you know she's brainwashed? How do I know she's not? I don't, so I wouldn't make a blanket comment. But that's just me.

If not, what are you doing talking about the lives of other people with malice?

Haha, not funny. Anyways, I live near Porto, not Lisbon. Sorry. Secondly, that's not my activity.

I've never met you, but if you're a genius, speculating on other's life in such a crude way, as well as accusations of theft is surely everything but genius.

That is true. But then again, perhaps you can share some knowledge, and tell why is this in any way a genius act? Perhaps it would be easier to understand.

One does not have to be a genius to see this train wreck coming. Look at the evidence. The mother is a shallow self-absorbed narcissist who is not married. So, the child will already have the disadvantage of being raised by a single mother. Add to that the Hollywood lifestyle of the mother and her poor decision-making skills. Now, do you really think a person like that will raise the next Einstein? Man, you need to stay away from the bodegas!
  • ««zambo... thefatguy 2012/07/28 19:08:02
    ««zamboni»»Hellsoldier-BN0
1-Well, some single mother do a wonderful job actually (better job than an orphanage). Sure it's harder. Sure 2 parents would be better. But 1 is surely better than 0.
    2-How is she self-absorbed? I didn't get that part.
3-Well, OK. The Hollywood ambient is surely not the best for child-raising. But who isn't to say that she won't make drastic changes to her lifestyle? We just don't know the future, do we?
  • thefatguy ««zambo... 2012/07/28 19:19:12
    thefatguy
She said she's going to continue to pursue her Hollywood dream of performing. That's the whole reason she's adopting. She doesn't want to take the time (or the toll on her body, I'm sure) to go through a pregnancy. That tells me she is self-absorbed and shallow. She basically thinks having a baby would be fun so she is going to "buy" one from a poor country. Time will tell if I am right or wrong. But, I doubt it.

Well, let's wait and see. Sure the reasons are everything but orthodox. I still say that it's better than no parent though.
