Henry Cavill Is the New Superman: Stud or Dud?

I would prefer if brandon routh got the part or even better if tom welling got the part. Everyone's used to him being superman in this generation!

as long as I don't have anything against the Brits or Henry Cavill, he's not the right actor for this part.I know he's from Krypton and an alien, but he should be played by an American actor. If this movie doesn't work I say cast Joe Jonas as Superman.AT LEAST HE HAS THE BODY FOR IT.

Yeah, he is a nice looking guy but he DOESN'T remotely fit the bill of Superman. You guys give Nolan a lot of credit on here but if not for Ledger "The Dark Knight" would have been as bad as "Batman Begins". A film that struggled to break 200 mil at the box office and did not do as well as Supes did on the worldwide market. Furthermore Bale sucks as Batman. Look at Keaton or Kilmer in the duds they look far better than that dork.

I'm hoping they will see the light and ditch this guy like they did with the Nick Cage stuff back before Routh got the job. Christopher Reeve is rolling over in his grave right now. Btw, I almost thought it might work out. While over at ign.com I was looking at pics of the new movie "The Immortals." I got Cavil confused with Kellan Lutz from Twilight. Check out the photos. The kid looks 1000 times more like Superman.

Nolan and his team has done a great job casting so im going to trust him on this one.
Bale was a good choice and then he proved everyone wrong when he cast Heath ledger(RIP) as the joker.
Henry Cavill has great range and i think he will do great as both Clark Kent and Superman.

This casting will prove to be Snyders down fall, and Nolan's mistakes are starting to show big time!!! First he cast's Ann Hathaway as Catwoman!? WTF!!! Now im sure had a major role in casting another one of his fellow British actors as Superman in probably the worst casting in history of Cinema!!! The guy's too short, too skinny, and too British... Sorry Henry your not Superman.

Tom Welling is this generations Superman, and he should be in the new movie not this dud Henry.

I'm more of a BATMAN girl myself, but my older Sister is a huge superman fan so I went to the last movie with her and actually enjoyed it, so I have say I would prefer Brandon Routh or the guy who plays Superman on Smallville, but not this guy, please, it's not that's he's not hot, but he's so not the superman type.

I most totally agree with you. The next Superman/Clark Kent/Kal-El should be most definitely played by Joe Jonas. He has the face, looks, body and muscles to be the Man of Steel. And Demi Lovato should be Lois and Bruce Willis should play Lex Luthor.

no I'm not. It's only a suggestion. It could happen, could not. But he could pull it off. I'm not saying he's gonna play it now, maybe in the future. I like Joe Jonas for Superman. If he can sing and dance, heck, he can act, too. I say give him a chance at acting. He can prove himself. And don't you dare make fun of my opinion.

I'm not making fun, but Joe Jonas is more someone I see in a comedy or a romance movie, not in an action movie for one of the most well known superheroes ever. Singing and Dancing are never going to come up in a superman movie so throw that one out the window, it doesn't matter, the main point is he doesn't have the look, he's way to hollywood pretty boy to ever play a superhero, so no I can't ever see Joe Jonas as superman.

Tom Weller would be a more logical choice - America has watched Smallville for the past 10 years and the transition would catch the interest of the public. Jumping faces every two or 5 years is idiotic (look at the new Spider man) people get comfortable with the characters and when you jump around they will lose interest. Better to leave Brandon Routh than another no name face, was not his fault the director did a crappy job at the story line.. BUT Weller would be the choice of the public if the movie elites had the common sense to put it to a public vote who they wanted to see in the leading role.

He's a handsome man. I've never seen Tudors so I don't know anything about how he acts, which is what it all boils down too....Not to mention the director's last movie "Watchmen" was HORRIBLE. As well as that Owl Movie. Lol

He's a stud but kind of more in the R.A. sense at a community college... he's the type of guy that would walk up to you in a laundry mat and give the washer one sound punch with the side of his fist to make sure your token goes down when it gets stuck...
