I love the old pre-Hayes code films. I catch them on Turner Movie Classics every once in awhile. The last time this particular film was on, a few people were over and I turned it on to get them to watch it with me. They were shocked such a film as that was made in the 30's.
Yeah it was really shocking at the time. Due to the publics horrified reaction to seeing the movie It virtually finished the directors career. It was banned here in the UK for 30 years until the 1960's.
Yeah it's very creepy, it was banned in the UK for over 30 years and virtually ended the directors career!
It's certainly quite a unique film, it shows a time when people would go and watch freak shows that had nothing to do with Simon Cowell.
Hope you enjoy it. There is a guy in it to look out for Roscoe Ates, whose stuttering voice in the movie is thought to have been the inspiration for Porky Pigs voice!
