Egahds no. Too many people for me and too much crime. I went to New Orleans after I graduated and went to the French Quarter, Bourbon street. it wasn't during Mardi Gras and there were too many people for me. I prefer to hide out in the mountains somewhere.

There are some bad places there, but there are some that are a lot nicer

Been there done that, lots of adults completely mis-B-haiving.....

It was real dirty!

Had fun.....I was 19.....so it was cool!

won't go back, though

tons of other places to vacation, that I've never been to.

Mardi Gras
in the mountains is more fun......

It's a lot cleaner since Katrina in most areas now, and they have more Cops working, it got really bad for awhile and they couldn't contain a lot of what was going on, I wouldn't advise taking the kids

Mardi Gras is GREAT for kids but not in the French Quarter. The Quarter is essentially adults-only ESPECIALLY Fat Tuesday.

Once I was there one week before Mardi Gras.......There was definitely some partying going on! Bourbon street was packed!

But need to experience it at least once. There is Mardi Gras celebration in Galveston but it is peanuts compared to New Orleans.

Come on we'll have a ball!!!! New Orleans can get a bit crazy, the Saturday Night before Fat Tuesday is the Endimion not sure if I spelled that right lol but it's the best time to be there, The Gulf Coast actually has a lot of parades as well, we take my daughter there, I won't take her to New Orleans just yet, still a bit too young lol

We actually do have a lot of company during Mardi Gras, it only takes us about 45 minutes to drive there, so if we don't stay and someone is sober we can drive home, if not we just stay at the hotel lol

It's a blast isn't it!!! See the balcony on the top right THAT'S WHERE WE ARE EVERY YEAR!! a friend of mine has rented a room there for over 28 years, nothing better than hanging off the balcony!!!

Right up the road from YA!!! We get a balcony every year at the Royal Senesta!! LOVE IT First pic top right hand corner!! It is a BLAST!!!

It is so nice and a lot safer than being on the Streets actually, my uncles friend has rented the same room there for years, fortunately we have a place to go, it's really a lot more fun to be on the balcony you see all kinds of crazy stuff lol
