    TSA goes too far for a lot of things. Too bad you have to be a celebrity for anyone to be concerned about your personal dignity or rights. (I got patted down because my wire-rimmed glasses set off the metal detector -- even when it was obvious what the problem was. Hope they enjoyed it -- I sure didn't and now travel by air only as a last resort.) And to think years ago, my family used to go to the airport just for fun! And if you were seeing someone off or meeting them, you could actually go to the gate to give them a hug or kiss.

    your black ? so what ? just what does your color have to do with any thing , besides I think the correct term to identify your self would be Negro when discussing your race , the color black, ( which I doubt you are ) would only indicate the darkness of your skin.

    and what does hiding things in a persons hair , regardless of race , have to do with a racist ?

    when u point out some one or something that is different is call racist( classify human beings according to their different morphological ) it does not only meen color people judge others just by looking at their r style, hair or anything that make them different in the eyes of society I'm talking of that racist
    plus i never did like the term negro is only use between black community ) if u call a black man negro he will be very mad at u ( don't be mad ok it happen to a lot ) and the word "black" is more of figure of speak than the color

    I really have great disdain for the searches being done, however, hiding things in your hair is easily done. I know, because I have done it.

    The last time I flew, February 2010, I was pulled aside for a random pat down, three times. All three times the agent never put his hands on the back of my neck, underneath my hair. I told them about it, and two were thankful I pointed out their error, one was an ass about it.

    I've seen some things in Afro's.... if she had a large one... search it.... or she could have just gone through the imager and it wouldn't have been necessary.

    I read a story about a guy with the really cool looking watch that was pulled aside because they thought is was a bomb. They called the bomb squad and when they told the TSA it was just a watch, they still held him in custody for a few hours. Yup, the TSA is full of morons and needs to be dismantled.

    He was actually arrested and pending charges. You should have read further about the 'really cool' watch... it had fuses and could have been used as a timer, and he had also tampered with his shoes and was acting suspicious... he also MADE that "really cool" watch... it wasn't purchased anywhere.

    Yes, he's an artist that makes "Really Cool Watches" for a living. Although I am sure we can all agree asking "why are you guys freaking out it's a watch I make them" is very suspicious behavior.

    Wait this is due to some security guy looking though some lady's afro? Personally I think the TSA goes too far in a lot of areas but searching though some ladies hair just seems kind of harmless and stupid (unless you are hiding something in there).

    The TSA is illegal, immoral and against our constitution. How about we let the private airline industry and the private travelers decide how much security they need, and not have government imposition of pat downs, strip searches and worse. It amounts to unreasonable search and seizure.
