Harry Potter
As for fantasy, both books are fantasy. There is nothing more realistic about vampires and werewolves than there is about wizards.
As far as being something I can relate to, of course people relate themselves to Bella or Edward. They were written with no personalities, something she admitted herself. (and might I add, what kind of self-respecting writer does that?!)

Harry Potter is very easy to relate to. That's why it draws fans of all ages, men and women alike, in countless countries all over the world. Twilight draws in teens. And mostly girls. Furthermore, HP actually deals with real issues such as racism, death, and bullies. What does Twilight deal with? How to obsess over your hawt boyfriend? Yeah, incredibly realistic."
This was also in reply to another poster about people being able to relate more to twilight than Potter which is totally not true. >:o
Harry Potter
And Harry Potter wins. Every. Single. Time.
It takes immense imagination to write Harry Potter, but Twilight takes little creativity to write. It's plot is cliche and overused. It's quite unoriginal. How many vampire love stories have we heard?
I'm amazed how J.K. Rowling managed to tie in every single detail strung throughout the series. It's astounding. The first three books, were admittedly kiddish, but the tone darkened in the 4th book. The series transformed from a childrens' series to a teen series. But many adults can read it, too.
Twilight didn't make any sense at all. How could Nessie have been born if all of Edward's sperm was dead? How did Edward and Bella fall in love after two weeks of knowing each other? How is it possible for Jacob to suddenly become a shapeshifter (and not a werewolf)? How is it that the vampires won in every single book without a single bit of loss?
Twilight was quite unrealistic in a lot of ways...Harry Potter presented many real-life situtations that us people go through.
In conclusion, Harry Potter will always be the winner here. He will be remembered in 100 years, 200 years...I think Harry will take his place with Frodo, Dorothy, and the other remembered. He's the boy who lived, and he will continue to live throughout literature.

Though, I also don't really like most of the fan-base either. Twilighters have attacked me personally by calling me a retard and an idiot for not liking Twilight. I find that riduculous. IT'S JUST A DAMN BOOK.
If you bash me, that just shows how immature you are. But then again, flames are so entertaining and so much fun to laugh at...
Flames are welcome! XD
