'Hangover' Star Ed Helms to Boycott Chick-fil-A Over Gay Marriage Stance: Will You?

Chick-fil-A shocked many of its fans when its president came out this week and said his company is opposed to gay marriage. And one famous fan who won't be returning to the fast-food joint is "The Hangover" actor Ed Helms.

"Chick-fil-A doesn't like gay people? So lame. Hate to think what they do to the gay chickens! Lost a loyal fan," Helms tweeted.

In an interview with the Baptist Press, Georgia-based Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy said he is "guilty as charged" when it comes to accusations that his company opposes gay marriage. He also said Chick-Fil-A is "very much supportive of the family -- the biblical definition of the family unit."

However, the company quickly went on damage control, saying its policy is to treat everyone with "honor, dignity and respect" without regard to sexual orientation. "Going forward, our intent is to leave the policy debate over same-sex marriage to the government and political arena," the company wrote on its Facebook page on Thursday. Too little, too late?

first of all it is the Chic-fil-A president's right to think that way, just like the president of the USA stated his opinion on the matter. I don't know who Ed Holms is and don't really care to know, I do not let so called celebrities make my decisions, I am a big girl I can make my own decisions with out these people's help.

It's not the point. The point is that for him, he is not going to do it, if people care or not, it doesn't matter, he isn't going to be a part of something he disagrees with.

I've never been to a Chick-fil-A, but I will say this. I support gay marriage all the way, however if someone opposes it and they don't have any intent on harming anyone then they should be allowed to voice their opinion.

They're a private organization; to force them to change would be just as oppressive as to disallow marriage between homosexuals. Everybody is entitled to their beliefs. There are plenty of restaurants to eat at. If Mr. Helms wants to boycott than it's up to him.

I will not boycott because I love Chik-fil-A. It is their right, and in their Christian beliefs to oppose gay marriage.

I like the fact that a company has the guts to stand for what they believe in. And last I checked, Chik-fil-a, sells chicken sandwiches. They don't marry people.

    S. Truett Cathy can believe whatever he wants and that is all it was, a personal/political opinion.

Since the company's policies do not reflect his opinion, this is a non-issue.

I don't go there often, but it is there right to oppose anything they want. If they chose to oppose gay marriage that is there right. This one person is a idiot because who cares if he doesn't like what they said. The chain is a christan company they are closed on Sunday. I cannot blame them. I am opposed to gay marriage also and have very strong opinions on it.

It's not chick-fil-A they doesn't like gay people. That makes it seem like every person working in every chick-fil-A ever is prejudice. It's one person with this opinion. I can understand his opinion offending a lot of people, but he's not going to be in every restaurant standing behind the counter glaring at you or poisoning your food. He shouldnt be angry at chick-fil-A as a whole.
