Chick-fil-A shocked many of its fans when its president came out this week and said his company is opposed to gay marriage. And one famous fan who won't be returning to the fast-food joint is "The Hangover" actor Ed Helms.

"Chick-fil-A doesn't like gay people? So lame. Hate to think what they do to the gay chickens! Lost a loyal fan," Helms tweeted.
In an interview with the Baptist Press, Georgia-based Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy said he is "guilty as charged" when it comes to accusations that his company opposes gay marriage. He also said Chick-Fil-A is "very much supportive of the family -- the biblical definition of the family unit."
However, the company quickly went on damage control, saying its policy is to treat everyone with "honor, dignity and respect" without regard to sexual orientation. "Going forward, our intent is to leave the policy debate over same-sex marriage to the government and political arena," the company wrote on its Facebook page on Thursday. Too little, too late?

Outta' Here. 2012/07/20 19:47:02No+39In fact, I called their corporate number and requested that they build one in my town.

I would support Chick-fil-A.........
If I could ever get in the parking lot. They are always busy.
I eat where I please.
If the food is good, the food is good.
If the service is good, kudos to them, I'll be back later.
If the owner's opinion is different from mine, let's just agree to disagree and go on our merry way.
I don't have to stop being friends with someone, or stop visiting them if we disagree do I?
What you're essentially saying is that to disagree with a liberal view is to be discriminated against, hated, & locked down. Who, precisely, sounds like the bigot & hater? Certainly NOT Chick-Fil-A.

You do realize that telling someone they have no right to individual beliefs that you are promoting/condoning bigotry and inequality - don't you?
If you meant "Peace", you'd not be boycotting & telling others they have no right to their own beliefs, & that they should be discriminated against because of their beliefs. Sarcasm is a nasty business & hateful when used as you have done.
Sorry, but I'm not discriminating against anyone. I'm not suggesting they be denied their business; I'm not suggesting they be denied their religion; I'm not suggesting they cannot be bigots or that they be denied their freedom of choice - which, BTW, is very much to the contrary of what they are promoting.
I'm merely exercising my freedom to choose not to support their bigotry through the support of their business which provides the means for them to promote their discriminatory beliefs and prejudices against others.

You could say I'm very bigoted against bigotry if that suits your ideals on fairness, but to say I'm discriminating against them because of their beliefs is a fallacious argument and plainly just some defensive posturing often used by bigots in an attempt to rationalize their bigotry and prejudices while placing their opposition (those opposed to their bigotry) on the defensive.
Sorry, that dog won't hunt ...
- Peace (and yes I mean it)
And honey, the phrase is, "that dog don't hunt", not "won't hunt". You must be a visitor to Texas (or a damn Yankee?).
No, your words are not congruent. In other words, as we say here in the real deep part of Texas, "you speak with forked tongue." Next time, when you're attempting to be a peaceful poster, don't start out your post with an insult such as, "Do you even understand the words you write or how irrational and circular your reasoning is?"
If calling you out for your fallacious argument and your erroneous assertions against my motives (and thus my character) is insulting, well then maybe you should stay in the shallow end of the pool.
I provided information showing how the owners of Chick-fil-a are financing organizations to promote their bigoted, exclusionary beliefs. Their actions go far beyond their personal belief. They actively pursue the discrimination and subjugation of a specific group of citizens. Their religiosity does not trump the civil rights of other citizens.
I am absolutely (and proudly so) biased against bigotry and discrimination against any and all of my fellow human beings. Attempting to flip my abhorrence against me is a flawed tactic used by those who generally approve of bigotry, intolerance, and discrimination as long as it furthers their ideological agenda. I pegged you.
And FYI, the idiom "that don't won't hunt" is correct and makes sense grammatically - that dog would not hunt. Of course, for some way down there in "deep" Texas, grammar don't matter much - do it?

Citizens have a right to protest anything they want. It was only a few short decades ago that there were sodomy laws on the books & that homosexuality was considered a mental illness. Through activism & pressure, the American Psychological Society succumbed & removed homosexuality from their list. Isn't it interesting that they are close to doing the same thing with pedophilia as we speak. I bet you would like that, too, wouldn't you? Anyway, I'm sure Chick-Fil-A, a multi-million dollar business, would not notice your $4.50 order being missing from their coffers, & the place will stay cleaner without your patronage.
Now, please don't bother responding back to me as this back & forth exchange is not accomplishing anything & seems to be getting you more upset, as can be seen by your increased use of two-syllable words & resorting to debate terminology, lol. We'll have to agree to disagree.
This statement from Chick-FI-A "However, the company quickly went on damage control, saying its policy is to treat everyone with "honor, dignity and respect" without regard to sexual orientation. "Going forward, our intent is to leave the policy debate over same-sex marriage to the government and political arena," the company wrote on its Facebook page on Thursday."
What they mean is "we will sell our food to anyone who has $$$".
Religious fanatics....can't live with 'em, can't kill 'em.
"What they mean is 'We will sell our food to anyone who has $$$.'
Religious fanatics....can't live with 'em, can't kill 'em."
Mainly because it's illegal. ;)
And I'm just fine with that.
(I will on occasion get their breakfast items, but again...that's like once ever three months at the most.)
