Halle Berry just doesn't have good luck with men. And when you throw her daughter into the fight, she turns into a tiger mom.

The Oscar-winning actress dropped out of a movie this week in order to prep for a custody battle involving her ex-boyfriend, model Gabriel Aubry, and their daughter, 2-and-a-half-year-old Nahla.

Berry, 44, "was forced to pull out of a film production in New York this week due to pending custody litigation involving her daughter," her rep told media outlets on Monday.

"She has attempted to resolve these custody issues amicably with her daughter's father, Gabriel Aubry, directly, but given his lack of cooperation, Halle has no choice but to seek swift judicial intervention."

Aubry, 35, filed for joint custody plus child support on Dec. 30. The couple split last April after dating for five years.

The break-up appeared amicable -- but the custody battle is looking anything but.

"Halle has serious concerns for her daughter's well-being while in the care of her father for any extended period of time and is prepared to take all necessary steps to protect her," Berry's rep said, without explaining what allegedly makes Aubry so untrustworthy.

Woody Allan and Mia Farrow is a classic case of child custody gone wrong. He ended up marring the daughter, they're still together too. how weird is that? This case will always fascinate me. I used to have the biggest crush on Woody Allen.

It's just something about his mannerisms, demeanor, his quiet intelligence and sensibilities, his restrained sensuality that makes him attractive. I don't know, it's something i can't fully articulate. Some men are like hidden treasures meant to be discovered, you can tell there is more to him than his exterior. He's like a old but juicy fruit that if you prod and poke a bit yields sweet nectar. i guess i'm weird, but i like the guy. Maybe I should post a question about strange attractions. lol

I lust after a comic book character (Wolverine) not even the actor, Hugh Jackman. LOL So I can't judge you on strange attractions.
Woody Allen just bothers me because of his whole step daughter or adopted daughter thing. That's what is odd about him to me.

Insightful reply. Unfortunately many women never see the hidden qualities of their husbands and ex-husbands. The same can be said for men regarding their wives and ex-wives as well. He produced some insightful films as well.

I'm a believer in determinism, but this case was a little... um... creepy.
I reconnected with my high school sweetheart 18 months ago (I've been a widow for almost 5 years). Wait... that's not really strange, is it...
How about Robert Duvall in Lonesome Dove? lol I've gotten so over it. My husband met him once when Duvall was in town visiting my husband's best friend's parents. He wasn't very helpful when my husband asked him for advice on his acting career. Turned me off to the guy completely.

Robert Duball?!! Now that was unexpected. And I had a feeling that he was more of a serious person, he usually is in most of his films, so maybe he wasn't purposefully being mean by offering advice. Like you, I also believe much of our lives are predestined; the fact that you and your high school love found one another again is exciting and wonderful, especially after losing you dear husband.

I'm glad this opportunity for new love has happened. I am praying that the Lord has a husband for me too, I believe he already knows who he is and it's just a matter of time, because I can't find anyone decent on my own, it has been awful, I'm ready to give up. Thanks for sharing w/ me, you encouraged me a lot :-)

He turned out to be a very serious person. My husband was a former stand up comedian and actor. He had an ensemble show on A&E; back in the 80's. The show even won a Cable Ace Award. He asked Duvall at this dinner what he would advise an up and coming actor and the response was, "Don't do it." My husband was absolutely crushed!

Right before my H.S. love contacted me, my mother had asked if I had ever heard from him. It was the weekend of my H.S. reunion. I got home, logged into Facebook and there was an email from him. It was incredible.

It will come when you least expect it. Don't give up, but live your life and don't look for it. You'll turn around one day and he'll be there. And keep me posted!
