SLIDESHOW: Lamest Emmy Nomination?

1 of 7

Gwyneth Paltrow, Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy, 'Glee'

Paltrow's role on "Glee" always just seemed to remind us that we'll never be as tall, blond and skinny as she is ... and her singing isn't all it's cracked up to be, either.

It's hard to think of someone Griffin hasn't offended -- but we guess that's what reality TV is all about.

  3. Jon Cryer, Outstanding Supporting Actor, 'Two and a Half Men'

Jon Cryer, Outstanding Supporting Actor, 'Two and a Half Men'

Is this the entertainment industry's way of saying, "Sorry about that whole Charlie Sheen thing"? Plus, he already won in 2009.

  4. Matt LeBlanc, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy, 'Episodes'

Have you ever seen an episode of "Episodes"? Neither have we. Guess this is the closest they could come to nominating "Friends" in 2011.

  5. Julie Bowen, Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy, 'Modern Family'

Julie Bowen, Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy, 'Modern Family'

Bowen is cute on 'Modern Family,' but she pales in comparison to her fellow nominee, Sofia Vergara. Odds are, they'll both lose to Jane Lynch.

  6. Jane Krakowski, Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy, '30 Rock'

For some reason, Krakowski has annoyed us ever since her "Ally McBeal" days.

  7. Paul Giamatti, Outstanding Supporting Actor, 'Too Big to Fail'

Paul Giamatti, Outstanding Supporting Actor, 'Too Big to Fail'

If you watched "Too Big to Fail," you know that most of the Giamatti scenes involved close-ups of him eating breakfast (in character as Ben Bernanke).

The nominees for the 2011 Primetime Emmy Awards are in -- and as usual, there were plenty of snubs and surprises.

In particular, Lea Michele of "Glee" -- who will be leaving the show after next season -- got bupkis, but guest star Gwyneth Paltrow scored a nod. Huh?

"Glee" in general did not do as well as expected. Last year, the freshman series scored 19 nominations. This year, it only got 12 -- but it was nominated for the coveted Outstanding Comedy Series award, which it lost last year to "Modern Family."

It all goes down Sunday, Sept. 18 on Fox. In the meantime, click through our slideshow and let us know: Who got the lamest Emmy nomination this year?

I wish I could unwatch that performance, I seriously think she got a nod just because she is Gwyneth Paltrow.

My vote went here because I dislike Glee. But in reality, it's not just these choices, every nomination is lame. I hate most award shows.

Mainly because the only reason for her appearance on Glee was to plug her Country Music movie, whatever it was called. Insult to Gleeks, imho.

True Blood should have been nominated, that show is everything Twilight is not, and that is a good thing...

The Emmy's are kind of stupid... but why is there even an "Outstanding Reality Program" category?!

Also, Paul Giamatti is amazing. He's highly underrated, and one of the best actors I've had the pleasure to watch on screen and meet in person.

One more thing: Glee sucks, it's shocking it even got 12 nominations. :|

I hate it too, but I thought she did well for not being like a singer or whatever she is.

Her stint on Glee was not praise-worthy.
