Group Protests 'The New Normal': Is TV Show 'Harmful to Society'?

The show looks meh to me. However, if anything is harmful to society it's that One Million Mom's legion of dumbasses that does nothing but bitch and try to take control of everything with their backwards mode of "thinking and logic" while making the rest of the Christian community looking like a bunch of moronic bigots who have no sense of entertainment, joy or a life.

I have never seen more prejudice and selfish,one sided opinions then that coming from the gay community.The title itself suggests that one either excepts it or too bad.Normal is a man and a woman having a child in a natural way, and raising a family the way that it has been sense God created us.People try to use any tactic they can to convince you in to believing that this is 2012 and that you should change your morals and family values that God intended us to have.It was'nt that long ago that society was trying to figure out if it was humanitarian to even have children using artificial insemination and surrogates.Now woman are suppose to give up there baby because they need money.

Its just a show. Fear Factor is not trying to get us to face our fears, Smash doesn't makes us go after our dreams no matter what happens, and The Voice doesn't tell us that the winner is THE best singer. They are all shows for the public's enjoyment, and by the looks of it its a comedy.

The problem is, is it's NOT the "new normal". It seems that all gays think that everyone is gay. They should rename the show to what it really is: Gaybrainwashing America!

Everybody that uses the "world is changing" as a defense for immorality needs to check themselves. God is eternal and so are his "rules" and teachings of Jesus Christ. If you want to "change"/"adapt" you are certainly going the way of the devil. Can u say fail hard?
I am perfectly OK knowing their are gay people in this world, my uncle who I am close with is gay. I am not OK with libs and Holleywood jamming it down me and my kids freaking throats every second they can

Of course it is. But one should ask the question: what came first? Change in society or this truly dumb TV series?

I am soooo tired of these bigots with too much time on their hands who feel they need to constantly put others (me) down for who GOD created them (me) to be. Get your dirty bigoted paws off my rights! And the next person who says I have the same rights because I can marry someone of the opposite sex can quite honestly take a long walk off a short pier... or just marry someone you don't love so you can fit into your little myopic segment of society. The harm here is the segment of society who makes kids feel less loved and less valuable because of their own prejudices or jaded beliefs. Let's hope every one of these million moms have a gay child ... A strong, good gay child.. maybe then they will open their mind and heart ... but probably not.

Considering how opposed OMM is to all gays, I'd be afraid of hearing one of them had a gay child. She's probably force the child into one of those 'pray the gay away' camp, or maybe try to force the child to have sex with someone of the opposite sex to 'cure' his/her homosexuality. It's scary how opposed they are to homosexuality. And I personally would not want to see a gay child grow up amongst such hateful women.

People do not have gay children,it has been proven that we are not born gay, There is no gay gene.This is a learned lifestyle and as far as your rights, you do have the same rights as anybody else, quit leaning on other people.You are entitled to believe in any god you want, but if this is your belief then you are not believing on the God who wrote the Bible through His disciples.Read Romans Ch.1-26,27,and Leviticus ch.18-22

What scientific studies do you cite here that are proof of your claims? If you ask any gay person when they knew, the majority would tell you they had attraction to the same sex from a very early age and received no instruction. Get yourself out of the bible for a bit and have real conversations with these people you are so quick to condemn (please do not send me the standard "judgement" verses to rebut the fact that you judge people in your heart... just accept it). Do you have the testiculafr fortitude to step outside your comfort zone and talk with gay people? Not preach to them, not offer them your beliefs which will shut down most peoples desire to open up, but talk with them to truly gain an understanding of who they are?

Society changes, life moves on. Please get used to it OMM, or you're going to have a hard time dealing with the future.

I'd like to point out that many people don't believe in the Heavenly Father. Nobody and I mean nobody, has the right to say who can and cannot be married.

A dramatic increase in unwed Mothers, abortions, murders (just look at Chicago) school dropouts, disrespect for Country, the Republic, a hatred for God and anything that deals with Christianity (strange how this was predicted 200 years ago). The World is on the fast lane to hell a world where life means nothing, respect for others is a joke, where the old is considered a waste of space and not a source for wisdom. Mankind declares "We are God" but they have no ideal what is Godly or what rises man above the animal world..all Mankind has done is too lower themselves to the mind of a reprobate. Like Greece and Rome after once you go down the road to perversion the end of civilization is near...like it or not that is the history of mankind.

There are tons of things on tv that I think are stupid or I think set a bad example...do I complain and try to get the stuff banned? Nope, I simply don't watch the shows. I think Jersey Shore is pure crap and encourages stupidity....but it's people's right to watch it and lose brain cells :)

I'm also just plain sick of people claiming that homosexuality is somehow harmful to the family....how does that even make sense?

OMM just pisses me off more and more. Hell, I'd watch this.

Most TV shows are absolute crap. Look at your line-up on cable, or satellite, and truthfully admit to how many you actually watch. No wonder Food Network and Travel Channel are so popular, along with QVC and HSN, and the Weather Channel.

Oh, God...how many time in my 60yrs. have I seen a TV show being blamed for something. Get over it....now you are just being a bore.

No one whose opinion is worth a damn listens to One Million Moms anyway. That group has become nothing more than a joke. If you've offended One Million Moms, then you're probably doing something right.

Not so much that a single TV show can affect society, it is the constant bombardment of homosexuality that most people have a problem with. All these shows do is force society to accept gays in their roles as parents (Modern Family) and young students (Glee). This is nothing but Hollywood evolving the acceptance of gay life. The bombardment started back in the 90s with one off shows like Will & Grace. The new television format is for every major network to have at least one show with a married gay couple to show how they integrate with hetero life and the unique issues gays have. I won't be tuning in to this show but I think it is healthy for both sides to debate.

What will have a larger affect on society is homosexuality in mainstream music. Music is far more powerful than television. Although in the 90s I thought people turned gay, now I believe people are both born gay (low numbers) and it is a learned behavior (higher numbers).

Thank god someone's evolving the acceptance of gay life!

There are amazing gay parents (like the ones in Modern Family) and there are tons of gay young students (like the few in Glee), so it's about time Hollywood stops pretending they don't exist.

Anyone who "chooses" homosexuality and wasn't born gay is not going to stick with homosexuality... you're going to go for what you're naturally attracted to... and experimentation is completely normal.

It's harmful to society to keep pretending like these families don't exist, or like there's something wrong with these families.

Thing that changed my theory on homosexuality is the existence of naturally born eunuch's mentioned in the bible. Logically thinking you can postulate that if eunuch's can be naturally born then any given person can be born gay. We also have the option of living an abstinence life, I think the act of sodomy is where God draws the line. Same for hetero premarital sex.

I think the role of the church is to preach abstinence and maybe the Catholics have it right, only engage in sex to procreate. Life would be soooo boring though... Thank God for forgiveness.

I find it interested that not all gay men engage in anal sex and, anal sex is only as common in gay male couples as it is in heterosexual relationships. So, it does seem a lot of people do see the sense in refraining from sodomy.

Marriage (a piece of paper) is a dying concept and is not necessary for good family values. Family is family no matter what the government or crazy religious fanatics say.
