Wa'da' ya' wanna' bet that those that are in a pool, Olympic or not, either pee in the pool and admit it, or they pee in the pool and deny it. Does not make it right, it is just a fact of life.

Your swimming in a 50 metre pool and you need to have a pee, go for it!!

The point is to swim as fast as possible. Who has time to pee?

Well uh...I imagine 100% of SH has never peed in an Olympic pool. Also, I have never peed in any time of pool.

Unless someone has kidney disease, urine is sterile. You can even drink it, and people have to survive without water. The kidneys filter the blood of natural substances the body doesn't require at any given time, such as zinc, potassium, etc. Some people even practice uropathy (urine therapy) to treat disease and for cosmetic purposes.

Which diseases can be treated with urine? *sceptical*

What I've read is that if the body is producing antibodies, drinking urine will reintroduce them into the system. So it's like reusing them rather than wasting them. I've also read it can help with allergies. It is an old practice (see link below) and not everyone agrees there are benefits.

I have heard that Madonna drinks her own urine everyday.

I have heard that many athletes and also people with cancer drink their urine everyday, I would have to drink mine our of a Crystal Champagne Flute, it would taste better, and it beats drinking it out of a plastic cup.

The cherry is purely for decoration purposes.

Now that's class! Actually I guess a person's urine will take on certain flavors depending on what one's been eating or drinking. Maybe cherries for example. :)

I could never drink it after eating asparagus, have you had asparagus and seen the color change of your urine and the odour, oh, NO! I am from Australia and we spell odour with a 'u' while you guys spelll it without a 'u' as in odor. I am living in Hong Kong surrounded by thousands of Americans, it is great fun.

I am a little ignorant about what your (with a k, means) it just clicked, you mean sceptical or skeptical, I am more of a "k" girl. The human body is fascinating and even the process of us eating and drinking and then it turns into waste that has to come out is intriguing. I loved Biology at school.

Oh yes, asparagus is not the food to eat if you plan on any urine therapy. Whew. Smells bad whether it's odor or odour. :)

Ooh not nice a poop floating on the surface of the pool. Perhaps it would have remained as lumps in his trunks. It might slow him down but it wouldn't be visible. Yes urination in a pool goes on all the time so I understand.

Actually the poop would be trapped in the outfits they where but I think it would disintergrate after some time, another cup of chlorine in the pool!
