'Green Mile' Actor Michael Clarke Duncan Dies: Best Celeb Tribute?

Sad news coming out of Hollywood: Actor Michael Clarke Duncan, who was nominated for an Oscar for his role in "The Green Mile," died Monday at age 54, The Associated Press reports.

Duncan was being treated for a heart attack, said his fiancée, reality star Rev. Omarosa Manigault, in a statement explaining that he "suffered a myocardial infarction on July 13 and never fully recovered."

Duncan, who also appeared in "Armageddon," ''Planet of the Apes," "Sin City" and "Kung Fu Panda," didn't start acting until his 30s. In his 20s, he worked as a bodyguard for Will Smith, Jamie Foxx and other stars.

Celebrities have been vocal with their affection for Duncan and their sadness over his passing. Here are some of our favorite tributes:

Personally, Frank Darabont's tribute reduced me to a puddle.

Bruce Willis must be devastated beyond belief. He was truly friends with M.C. Duncan.

Honestly, I thought this was a lie. I kept thinking 'maybe they made a mistake' or 'maybe they put up the wrong celebrity'. Turns out it was true.

I have seen "Green Mile" movie. it was one of wonderful movie I ever watched. Michael Clarke did a great job on that movie.really great. so talented actor.

I picked Tom Hanks simply because, well, I like Tom. I am sure that many are saddened by Michael's passing, as I know I am. I am saddened by the person, simply because I find a great loss at the death of someone with so much potential, and an innate ability to touch lives. I also admit that I will miss his presence, and will always find myself say that this would have been a great part for "that big guy in The Green Mile"....Just a thought

They all sounded very sincere. When I first read about it, I thought it was some type of facebook hoax, but when I looked it up, I found out it was true. This is devastating, he was one of my favorite actors, Armageddon, Green Mile, the Whole Nine Yards, are all my favorite movies with him in it. Shame I never got to meet him. I just wonder how Bruce Willis feels, they were really great friends.
