Green Day have had a triumphant return to the spotlight in 2012, with their three back-to-basics albums winning back critics and fans, but hanging over it all has been frontman Billy Joe Armstrong's substance abuse problems. However, today the band have announced that they are ready to hit the road in 2013.
According to MTV, the band have said in a statement that "We want to thank everyone for hanging in with us for the last few months," and "We are very excited to hit the road and see all of you again, though we regret having to cancel more shows."

Armstrong himself addressed his fans, saying "I just want to thank you all for the love and support you've shown for the past few months. Believe me, it hasn't gone unnoticed and I'm eternally grateful to have such an amazing set of friends and family. I'm getting better everyday."
Armstrong entered rehab in September, following his onstage meltdown in Las Vegas.

RETIRE IN PEACE AND KNOWING YOU ARE ON TOP!
I guess they are ready though.
Green Day is hands down the best punk band that's still making bada$$ music to this day, and likely will continue to reign for another 10 or 20 years.
March on, beautiful souls!! ♥'
