Another day, another celebrity addiction confession. "I couldn't predict where I was going to end up at the end of the night," Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong tells Rolling Stone of the alcohol and prescription drug abuse that led him to rehab after his public meltdown last September.
"I'd wake up in a strange house on a couch. I wouldn't remember how. It was a complete blackout," he says, opening up for the first time since he smashed his guitar onstage and shouted, "I'm not f---ing Justin Bieber, you motherf---ers" at last year's iHeartRadio festival.
But Armstrong's lifestyle seems to be more the rule than the exception in Hollywood. TMZ reported today that Lindsay Lohan may have been drinking just before she crashed her Porsche last June. What happened to that "comeback" we've heard so much about?
While Lohan's misbehavior isn't exactly a surprise anymore, sometimes we don't see it coming — like when Eva Mendes checked into Utah's Cirque Lodge in 2008, reportedly for substance abuse issues. Or when adorable "Sixth Sense" star Haley Joel Osment pleaded no contest to one count of driving under the influence of alcohol and one count of possession of marijuana in 2006.
Still other stars have overcome their demons — like seemingly squeaky-clean "Glee" star Cory Monteith, who told Parade he went to rehab at 19 to deal with substance abuse issues. And ex-Disney star Demi Lovato, who revealed that promoters used to give her drugs and alcohol "to stay 'up.'"

Now they are spit shined and polished up---not to mention Armstrong now purposley does things to get attention/publicity --- nothing is spontaneous any longer.
They are packaged and sold like a product
Its nice to point "That" out though.
Demi is more surprising. I WOULD HAVE voted Haley, but... it doesn't really look THAT bad, at least with the info given. Especially since it's just pot and a booze account. So you had a glass and rolled a leaf, big whoop.
there is satirical lampooning that is cultural commentary not serious personal rage.
The reason I would take issue with this idiotic gnome is this. The cultural, social and
sometimes political history and function of rebellious youth culture has been to challenge,
reject, redefine and or expose conventional society, its beliefs, demands and values.
While much of this can be silly, immature, mellow dramatic and pseudo intense in the way
so many adolecents are (we all go through "phases" while growing up) these expressions
of freedom and creativity often hold important messages and meaning for society.
This brings about social and cultural change and liberation as society is examined more
closely and individuals expand possibilities and choices regarding how they think and
feel and who they are. Youth culture in the US has often aspired to find and bring about
truth and a more just society. These are noble aims. Billie Joke Armstrong cloaks
himself in the superficial trappings of rebellion and dangerous truth with no substance or
actual departure from mainstream aesthetics, culture or values while demanding to be
credited with the romantic and heroic connotations the real risks of societal dissent imply.

As he packages and presents himself as such, expecting the attention controversy
brings where there is no real controversy, he is inauthentic, insincere, pretentious
and a false self appointed messiah (for lack of a better term.) In laymen's terms he's
a douche. I'm sorry what was the question again?
