For six years, fans have been watching every twist and turn of the antics of the socialites from the Upper East Side of Manhattan. But Monday night, “Gossip Girl” ended its run with the biggest surprise of all. Spoiler alert: “Gossip Girl” is, in fact, a boy!
That’s right after seasons of speculation, the producers revealed in the last few minutes of the finale that Lonely Boy himself, Dan Humphrey, had started the blog in an attempt to infiltrate Serena van der Woodsen’s world.

That’s right after seasons of speculation, the producers revealed in the last few minutes of the finale that Lonely Boy himself, Dan Humphrey, had started the blog in an attempt to infiltrate Serena van der Woodsen’s world.

So now "Gossip Girl" devotees can pack up their theories that Dorota done-it and cut Jenny Humphrey some slack. Neither of the two were spreading the rumors after all -- although Dan did admit that his little sister was aware of his scheme for a long time.
The primetime soap’s send-off also included lots of shockers. There was a Blair Waldorf and Chuck Bass wedding. And a look into the future revealed Nate Archibald’s potential run for Mayor of New York, Dan and Serena’s trip down the aisle and Lily’s rekindled romance with her ex-husband William. Oh, and Rufus apparently finds love with Lisa Loeb.
But nothing was more of a shocker than finding out that Dan was behind the online trash talking. And with that, the series came to an end with a resounding “XOXO.” But did the show wait too long to let its audience know who "Gossip Girl" really was?

No+6The women were babbling about this on the KTLA Morning News like it was real- my thought

I only watched the first three seasons and maybe two last season and I only watched the season premier but it sucked so I just waited for the finale. It was fun while it lasted but I won't miss it.
2. Who would think this was real in the first place?
3. Can't stand gossip ..
4. Whew .. does this mean another bit of wasteful fluff off the air?
They obviously knew I was on to them and made it seem as if Dan was it, but really DOROTHA was meant to be Gossip Girl!!!!
I'm just glad that Chuck and Blair got their happy ending. That's all I really cared about, really.
