Did everyone forget that "The Godfather: Part II" was itself partly a prequel? Now a new prequel book is scheduled for 2012 -- and you know the movie will follow.

This is one offer they probably should have refused.
A new prequel to "The Godfather" is in the works. And before you start groaning, bear in mind that it's only a book, not a movie -- so far.
"The Family Corleone," an authorized prequel to the late Mario Puzo's classic "The Godfather," is scheduled for 2012, according to The Associated Press.
Grand Central Publishing announced Wednesday that the novel would be written by Ed Falco, an award-winning author and poet. The book will be set in New York in the 1930s and is based on an unproduced screenplay by Puzo, who died in 1999.
But seeing as "The Godfather" is already considered one of the best movies of all time -- and the equally good "Godfather: Part II" already contains brilliant prequel elements (Robert De Niro won the Oscar for his role as a young Don Corleone) -- do we really need another "Godfather"?

But thats the worst on this list.
Trust the original director on this one. It IS the original Capolla, right? Then, it should be alright...maybe not a classic like the original...but the director has enough experience under his belt to make it interesting, and the box office may be listening with some interest.
Violent movies have their place among a certain fandom, that will go to see the blood, not just the acting. The Godfather was originally one of the bloodiest on film, but now it is just blase'. Blowing guys away without turning away the camera and showing bullet penetrations is so...unoriginal today. But you do have to hand Capolla being able to tell a good story, and he won an Academy Award...so do pay attention, as it will not be a waste of your movie money...unless it gets totally screwed up.
I wonder what they have in kind to top it? In the new world of Saw IV...perhaps...it is similar in gore...and then you add the acting. Humm...might work. If nothing else catches my on-screen attention 1st, I might check it out. It will undoubtedly be a smash DVD hit.
There should have been a 'other' section. Another SH question stuffed up.
My heart will always be with the original classics.
The Exorcist with Linda Blair shoulda been
left alone after part 2. I didn't like Exorcist: the beginning.
