Glenn Beck show loses 20 major advertisers: Should Glenn Beck be fired?

futureman August 18, 2009 21:55:26

After calling President Barack Obama a "racist" with a "deep-seated hatred for white people", Glenn Beck is seeing advertisers jump ship. Among the big names that are pulling their ads from the show: Geico, Lawyers.com, Proctor & Gamble, Progressive Insurance, Wal-Mart, Best Buy, CVS, Travelocity, and Allergan. Some of the companies are just shifting the ads to other shows on the FOX network, resulting in no lost revenue or strained relationships. However, even though Glenn Beck is quick to point out that his views do not reflect those of his network, the existence of his show is like a cancer on the network, damaging its reputation. Should FOX drop Glenn Beck?
Yes, FOX should drop Glenn Beck. He is hurting the network.
No, keep Glenn Beck. Any publicity is good publicity.
You!

His ratings are super high, the CEO's who pulled their sponsorship should be fired. Sales will go down and they will learn not to pander to RACIST COMMUNISTS ever again.

Support the first Amendment do NOT buy or use any of these services or products and write them a nice letter telling them YOU SUPPORT FREE SPEECH oh and 0bama is a racist (in case you have been living under a rock)

No, keep Glenn Beck. Any publicity is good publicity.

Who cares if Beck loses 20 major advertisers? There are many more waiting in the wings. Another indication of how well FOX is doing, is the addition of John Stossel. It warms my heart to see Liberal bases lose people who have had enough of Obama butt-kissing

Boycott the companies that dropped Beck AND British companies until Dr. Savage is removed from the "banned for travel to the U.K". list. This includes Stealth Brit companies like "Fresh and Easy", Tesco's Foray into U.S. Markets

Those advertisers are the real problem! Take a stand for America now, or we might not have a choice to buy your product, depends on whether or not you let "O" in on the profits or make him CEO of your company, or at least that's what he's hoping for anyway.

No, Glenn Beck is right where he should be. If he struck out on his own, people might be even less inclined than they are now to realize he is a sham. He's just another corporate whore sellout like the rest of them on the MSM and cable infotainment channels. He's not going anywhere and posts like this prove it.

Yes, FOX should drop Glenn Beck. He is hurting the network.

What he said was wrong, offensive, and completely untrue. If FOX doesn't want to suffer, they will drop him. And if not, they'll plummet. The again, I'm not a huge fan of FOX, so the latter doesn't really matter to me.

But on a serious note, what he said was too much to just turn your head the other way...whether we like it or not, race is still a sensitive issue. To be safe, you shouldn't mix in race in your insults, no matter how upset you are. Because then you are no longer attacking one person, but a whole ethnicity.

I think that's why it's been acting as a 'cancer' for FOX. And for that reason, they should drop him. Then again, the big decision is ultimately up to FOX...

cancer on fox? really? there numbers are higher than all. And as far as race, what was Barracks excuse for saying the police dept. acted stupidly, oh thats right I am sure that he saw absolutely no color when he made that comment. I do not agree with what Glenn said, but I do understand where he may get the idea, example just given. This president was supposed to bring unity to this country and as far as I am concerned we are even farther apart. Believe me fox is not hurting, good thing they make remotes, so you have a choice not to watch. Glenn speaks from the heart and he must have felt that in his heart that Obama was being racist.

Yes, FOX should drop Glenn Beck. He is hurting the network.

He's trying to be Bill O'Reilly using the word pinhead now. Since he came on Fox News he's been getting more off the wall and twisting facts around. That won't help legitimate news folks like O'Reilly.

No, keep Glenn Beck. Any publicity is good publicity.

Glenn is doing his job. Get people talking and watching. It is sad that when someone tells the truth they are punished by those who cannot face it.

It's kinda the Howard Stern rule.....the more controversial you are, more will watch. Also, if he offends anyone they can just not watch.
Now if all the sponsors go south and refuse to pay, then they should try to fill the spot's. If they can't then he is gone.

Why is it okay for some to tell lies, but for other not to be able to tell the truth. Double standards still lives.

Go tell Keith Oberman and Rachel Mad Dyke that......Obama is the most racist person in this country........or he wouldn't have patronized a person and a church for 20 plus years, that spouted racial hatred and hatred for this country......Glenn Beck told the truth,.......he never says anything that he doesn't have facts to back him up.....and he always says.....in my opinion.....the man's a genius.......and those sponsors that dropped him are regret it bigtime.......

The man is an idiot. Obama's mother was white not to mention
2 grandparents. Maybe he should read Obama's biography
before he shoots off his mouth ( that is if he can read ).

    Nick names are stupid
That's exactly what he is saying. Remember we are all suposed to beleive that only White people are rasist. even though 98% of the black vote went to Obummer.
