Well you can scratch one 2012 summer movie off your schedule. Despite
several looks at the film and even a trailer, word has just dropped that
G.I. Joe: Retaliation
will be moving from June 29th, 2012 to March 29th, 2013 in order to
make some room for a 3D conversion. Part of this has to do with helping
the film perform better internationally, but some of it may also have to
do with the fact that G.I. Joe 2 would have had to go up against The Amazing Spider-Man (June 29th to July 3rd), both of which would've had to share a very similar audience. Plus, one look at how well The Hunger Games
did in March made many behind the scenes feel better about debuting
what's essentially a summer blockbuster a bit earlier than expected
prior to the official start of summer. Or, ya know, it could just be
really bad and Paramount would rather spend time converting it to 3D in
order to make as much as they can off it. No matter which way you slice
it, this ain't a good thing for anyone, especially when you're moving a
film five weeks before it hits theaters
