Women of a certain age, or past it, can barely get acting jobs, but men of the same age or older still get all kinds of leading roles. Women get paid less for lead roles, get less publicity for lead roles, don't have NEARLY as many script choices for lead roles.
So, in an industry in a city where they bitch, moan , scream and use their awards pulpit to admonish equality for illegals and anyone else, THEY themselves treat women like third class citizens AND women there are still HIGHLY likely to be subjected to casting couch demands for roles.

George Clooney has never been one to shy away from the microphone, but politics are usually his forte. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, the "Descendants" star took to sexism in the movie industry with as much zeal, saying it's nearly impossible for women to lead in blockbusters these days, and that it's only gotten worse in the last few decades.
Clooney told EW, "There's this strange thing that's happened over the last 25 or 30 years where there's this decision being made that women aren't able to carry the box office ... It's much harder to get a film with a woman lead made. When a man hits 40 is when roles just begin to happen. And for women it doesn't happen. I find that to be a very concerning issue."
He went on to cite "The Help" and "Bridesmaids" as evidence that women can lead movies to the box office if given the chance.

They'll even put up with a republican like Mel Gibson, until people think he is too old and the box office suffers, then they'll throw him under the bus. (Clint Eastwood has too many oscars for producer & director, so he is untouchable).
Against men, that is.
You can't watch any movie nowadays without all of the male charachters being made to look either like sex obsessed slobs or hopeless idiots.
Salt with Angelina Jolee in my opinion was good which I would rate 3.5 start and I would look forward in seeing Salt 2.
Perhaps George and Meryl should collaborate and make female lead movie that could carry the box office. This can not be an easy task to do, but it could be done.
Then there's the issue of women being the heros... There are almost none of them.
Women are just used for the demand for sex on screen.
I find it sad that people say that they are so ready to give minorities like gays, their rights in our society yet women are still far down that list. Has anyone ever noticed how women are usually the last to be accepted and be given the same rights as any man of any race? Hollywood is just as sexist as any other group in society.
And there's a QUESTION about whether Hollywood is sexist? Bwhahaha...
Good for George.
No wonder fewer people see movies these days. The left fills movies with unAmerican messages. Hollywood hasn't adopted to new media and focuses more on itself than its audience.
