and I commend him.
Perhaps I should get off my own butt and do something for positive change in the world...?

This kind of knocks Russell Brand's arrest down a few notches. George Clooney was arrested outside of the Sudanese embassy in Washington, D.C., along with his 78-year-old father, two congressmen, Martin Luther King III, and NAACP president Ben Jealous. They had assembled a protest to raise awareness of recent attacks by Sudanese leader Omar al-Bashir against innocent people.
Before the Secret Service whisked him away, Clooney explained, "We need humanitarian aid to be allowed into the Sudan before it becomes the worst humanitarian crisis in the world. The second thing we are here to ask is for the government in Khartoum to stop randomly killing its own innocent men, women and children. Stop raping them and stop starving them. That's all we ask."
On Wednesday, Clooney told the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, "I want to separate what is fact and what is fiction. The government of Sudan, led by Omar al-Bashir, Ahmed Haroun and defense minister Hussein, the same three men who orchestrated the atrocities in Darfur, have turned their bombs on the Nuban people. Now, these are not military targets. These are innocent men, women and children. That is a fact." Do you think George Clooney is being an activist or an intruder?
