'Game of Thrones' Is Getting a Longer Season Three: Do You Watch the Show?

Nope, I don't own a TV. Never will.

Sweet! Though ten shows is still way too few.

It IS?! That isn't much of a jump though in the time allotment given, but that's still great news!! I can't wait for the new season.

Haha, yeah, it gets really, really extremely awkward when we sit there in silence while I am trying to forward ahead so I can skip those scenes. Still defiantly worth it, though haha!

I don't get HBO and I won't ever...but I'm glad they are getting a longer season. I've just finished what books there are in the series and I have to say I'm incredibly impressed by the depth and complexity of the characters, especially the female characters. Too often fantasy novels write female characters that are: strikingly beautiful (or oddly beautiful), incredibly intelligent (yet they act incredibly stupid), and have powers that make them one of a kind. They are often one-note and devoid of personality. Blah. Martin's overall cast has depth and they are written like real people: they have motivations and vices, they aren't all wholly good or wholly bad (Joffrey seemed wholly bad, but he was never a POV character). And it's great, because at least in my case, I am not really 'rooting' for many people because I like them all. I care about the outcome because I don't really know it.

Excellent! I think it may be the best show on TV. If you have not watched it, you are cheating yourself. Each episode is better than any full length feature movie you might see in the theater (and go broke doing so). It's got everything

Don't have cable...not missing anything

They are like bunnies. the show is all boobs and humpyhumpy 70% of the time. I started to watch it but after they f***-ed and killed everyone in the first season I didn't bother. I might read the books sometimes. They are usually much better than the HBO series.

For any real "period" piece, I have seen, Game of Thrones is far and away the very best. The attention to detail, character interplay, and the sheer dynamics of life in the pre-Christian landscape, makes for a fantastic yet completely believable story line. The fact that it was cold, stark and very unforgiving just to live in such a place, at such a time, is masterfully portrayed. I have always felt strongly, of the stark, honest portrayal of real life in pre-Christian Europe, and the grit and audacity of the people who lived it.

The real appeal is simple. You will find no sword wielding models in silk loin cloths, frilly outfitted aristocrats or lavish five star accommodations. What you will find, is an abundance of real life, savage intent and an unyielding pursuit for power. All of this and more, so eloquently supported by steel, leather and blood....Just a thought...

I watch....but on a European site where I can get it w/o having to shuck out big bucks for HBO to just watch one show. Not going to shell out $50 for a DVD or blu ray that already decided to edit out the head on a stick scene...which will surely come out with a yet-more-lengthy version at some point with deleted/additional scenes for more money.

I can't wait to see who gets to kill that little POS. Will it be Arya, will it be Tyrion? Sansa after he rapes her and tells her he's sending her off to the whore house? Maybe Daddy "The Kingslayer"? Grandpa Lanister? Mommy dearest perhaps, she does abhor him while at the same time loving him. Or will it be "Dog" after he rescues Sansa from the whore house? I haven't read the books so I'm just guessing. I'd love to see Tyrion sit the throne even if only for a little while. Out of all of them he understands most how the game is played.

Hopefully sooner than any of that, I don't think he deserves to live even as long as he has :PP
