It might have been the biggest non-news story of the year: A rare yet significant 5.8 earthquake rocked the East Coast on Tuesday -- and pretty much nothing happened as a result.
"Glee" star Cory Monteith's retweet was the probably best response of all -- a pic of the "damage," which is also being billed as the "DC Earthquake Devastation":
But Snooki's reaction was the weirdest:
"2012 is near, I knew it! I hope everyones okay!!!" the "Jersey Shore" star tweeted, referring to the ridiculous end-of-days theory.
Kidding aside, there was some damage. At the Washington National Cathedral, at least three of the four top stones on the central tower fell off, and cracks appeared in the flying buttresses at the cathedral's east end. The top of the Washington Monument has a crack, and the quake shattered windows and
wrecked grocery stores near its Virginia epicenter.

Also, I'm going to give a break to Snooki: Very rarely do people who talk about 2012 actually BELIEVE the conspiracy theory. Face it, if you saw that exact same tweet from a friend of yours, you would know they were being ironic. Snooki acts like a brain dead parasite enough elsewhere, you don't need to reach that hard to shoehorn an insult against her with a silly tweet.
Hands down.
