That a person feels their life is worth so little, and that there is no other avenue, is just so, so sad. I feel so bad not only for him, Bless him, but the amount of pain his family and friends are feeling, is just unspeakable....My heart goes out to all who knew him personally and professionally ....I hope his soul is at peace.

Sadness doesn't begin to cover the loss felt when someone takes his or her own life. The constant stream of ever-changing emotions is exhausting. emptiness, anger, guilt, fear, loneliness, rage, regret; and on and on. And it never goes away. And this is made worse by the knowledge that for him to have taken this step, he must have felt even worse.

Junior, you were one of the most lovable characters in the NFL; you were a joy to watch, and you played the game with dignity and class. I wish you'd found the strength to continue to live with that dignity and class. I wish you'd gotten the help you needed.

This is so very sad. Because my son worked 8 years for the Miami Dolphin's organization (and now heads up the Jason Taylor Foundation), I was fortunate to get to know Junior when he was a Miami Dolphin. He was a lovely, kind man, always at every the charity function to help kids in need and he was very giving to the South Florida community. Because he knew my oldest son well, every time I saw him he would give me a big hug and call me, Mamma! I was devastated when I heard the news. My son, Jason, and so many of us in South Florida are heartbroken. May he rest in peace. I will always see his bright and cheerful smile and hear his laughter when I think of him. The moment he entered a room, heads turned and his charisma drew you in. He was so much more than a football player. So very sad indeed.

This is sad and most unfortunate. They're saying now they believe it was a suicide. Many ex-NFL players have committed suicide due to the adverse effects all the hits and injuries have caused on their psyche.

Seau is the eighth member of the Chargers' 1994 Super Bowl team to have died. In December, linebacker Lew Bush suffered a heart attack at age 42. Other members of the team who have died are running back Rodney Culver, linebackers Dave Griggs and Doug Miller, defensive tackle Shawn Lee, defensive end Chris Mims and center Curtis Whitley...crazy

He might have sent some signals some time ago with his car accident and nobody really took notice. It's really too bad these guys are forever viewed as iron men well after their playing career is over when in all actuality they have the same issues everyone else has maybe even more..

He had been a couple bad accidents and because he couldn't play like he used to, he was terribly hard on himself. If you could only know how personable and kind he was. Every time there was a charity function for sick children in south Florida he was there. He always supported kids and donated his time and money to help others. My family and I are just shattered at this news. I feel so badly for his family.

Yes, I saw his mother's news comment....My heart was breaking for her. It made me cry as well...Why does such a good life have to be cut sooooo short...The pain he must have been in was just to great for all the good he did for everyone....A person's life is just so much more than their job....We need more good people like him...I wish someone could have realized how much pain he was in, and get to him before it was to late...

I do think a lot of people tried to help him. I know he got into some drinking accidents when he lived in Florida. He had been trying to kill the pain for a long time, I guess. So, Very tragic. He had such a good heart and was always ready to help children in need.

If you are close to the family, then it is hard for you as well, hopefully you can be of some help to them...
Some postings here consider it might be related to the use of steroids or growth hormones,,,what do you think about that possibility???
