Really the beginning of socialist/marxist professors taking over the universities in America...I worked as a faculty assistant for years and one did not have to of Einstein intellect when sitting in on interviews that a Conservative professor was only hired as last resort...and believe me, these socialist professors made sure they knew by the time the interview was over if the prospective new one was conservative or liberal...Voila, most universities in America, even Notre Dame taken over by the liberals...the beginning of dumbing down of schools, intellect, resulting in America being at the bottom of the heap in quality of education in the world..

I for one loved the fashion from the eighties I wear half the stuff of mums the colours and mixing and matching iand stockings were gorgeous from that time!

A rebirth from the massive mistakes of the Carter years. he and his failed economic policies came almost as close to destroying America as F.D.Roosevelt did. (And Obama is passing FDR at this point if we don't stop him!)

The birth of my daughter in 1980, Ronald Reagan, and my first real interest in watching the NFL. Continue to be a fan of all three. First my daughter, then the NFL.

Un-bridled greed with the backing of a president that spent all the money and needed to borrow more. The great American expansion gave incentives to businesses that"expanded" their businesses to overseas markets. In 1980 we were the largest lender nation in the world and by 1988 we had become the most in-debted nation in the world.

The hair brings back memories. I was in my 20s at that time and spent alot of time at the clubs dancing. My haircolour was magenta, multiple piercings to ears and nose and a very large tattoo that I am still teased about. Had a great deal of fun but now my good times are fodder for my now twenty year olds
