Damn, the question is closed? After one day?

So, I'll just back you up here with Stevie. Not many come close, do they? You can tell the questioner is just a child (he's 15). He's never heard of Janis Joplin, Grace Slick, Crissy Hynde, Joan Jett, Liz Phair, Pat Benatar, Pattie Smith, Deborah Harry, or a dozen more out-right rockers.

Thanks, man. Right on. Yeah, Stevie's got to be the best there is. She even sounds lovely backstage! Wow.

'Gypsy' and 'Wild Heart' are great, too. They just don't seem to make music like they used to.

Oh these choices anyhow...I have a quite a few of her songs on my MP3 player.
I used to be the girl in that song above, it happens for me a lot with Pink songs...I so get them!

Oh and I did vote Pink the darn site keeps doing this to me today.

First off only one of your choices if worthy of being considered Rock. That is Orianthi and only because of her guitar skills. And while there are many that deserve but did not make your list such as Linda Ronstadt, my two favorites are Janis Joplin

and Bonnie Raitt

Really? You are going to try this nonsense. You post a bunch of tween queen pop stars and think they are Rockers and then add this nonsene(more tha once from what I see) Janis Joplin played no guitar, As for orianthi here single I heard are at best pop but she can play a mean guitar.

all I'm saying is that pop punk/emo, alternative-rock and metal are all rock too I'm not trying to start an argument... if Janis Joplin didn't play it's cool, I just consider anybody with a rock album a rocker I'm trying to start anything

ROFLMAO. Here is a clue if all those genres you name are rock then they would be called rock not by other names. Julio Inglaises did a song with Santana does that make him a rocker because it was on a REAL rock stars album?

wow really that is not what I meant, what I said was "I just consider anybody with a rock album a rocker" that means someone with a PERSONAL rock album or someone in a rock band not a collaboration

I agree with you on Janis Joplin. I wish more rockers were like her today...

That being said, your attacks on this girl's interests were uncalled for. Who are you to judge her idea of a good artist, or even her interpretation of a certain style of music? Music is a form of FREE expression, not something that you can define dogmatically.

are you kidding me what kind of list is this...... these girls are all pop stars created by their record labels. including haley william. orianthi is the only one who rocks on this list why? because she is a serious session guitarist chosen to be on michael jackson's fair well tour. plus she shreds with the best of them.

You asked a question and as you can see the vast majority of your responses do not agree with your list. That may tell you that either you have no clue as to what a Rocker. Coming in and saying after the fact that all these other genres are included and are rockers is ridiculous

my ignorance, see i dont listen to otep or alvarenga or who ever. so i didnt know. i just automatically assumed since the list was full bs that those were also bs people. otep although im not that into still is a great band. im glad atleast someone was able to say something substantial so for that thank you.

yea janis joplin rocks. im not saying you need to play a guitar to rock. but if infact you do play guitar especially quite well in a rock band or in the style of any genre of rock music that automatically qualifies you to rock.
