Exactly how much of a great music icon is Steve Winwood?

Starting at all of 14 in the Spencer Davis Group until now has he not done it all? Born in 1948 in Birmingham England his father was a foundry man by day and played Saxophone & Clarinet by night. Steve started as backup to greats like Do Diddley, BB King and John Lee Hooker to name the short list. The center points of bands Traffic, Blind Faith. Beyond collaborations with Eric Clapton, Jimmy Hendrix and Tito Puente the list is to great to mention! To me he's more than an Icon he's been decades of great music! What do you say?

Good stuff. I hadn't heard anything from him until the 80's but once I did, I listened to most of his stuff.

Can't honestly say I love his stuff, but he is a dedicated rock & roller with a long career giving himself to the music. Did he ever make Rock & Roll Hall of Fame? just curious

He's in the rock and roll hall of fame and is an all time great vocalist and he's been making great music for 6 decades. He and Clapton did a wonderful concert at the Hollywood bowl not too long ago.

AaaaHahaa....that must have been some Fro? Around 79 I went to the Superbowl with my Pop. There was this before game thing good food and all. Stood about 3 ft. away from OJ Simpson. HUGE head on that fool and that Fro was NOT helping!
