Evanescence however may be mentioneed in Gothic culture but aren't really categorized specifically in a Gothic category of music. Type O Negative is intended to be a Gothic band by being listed in the "Gothic Metal" subgenre. Two more bands listed in the same category would be Cradle of Filth and Hecate Enthroned.reply

I'm not really classifying it by genre. I'm just going with who sounds more Gothic. I thought Opeth sounded Gothic. I could probably say the same for Dream Theater, Lacuna Coil & Lame immortal. Maybe even throw those two in.reply

+1I wouldn't say dead. Lot's of bands still doing goth, Opeth & Evanescence among them. Just not a popular genre.reply
