Oh, wow! That was the movie that sent me out to buy a video player--and the video didn't come for a couple of years! Love that film.

I will say this. What made E.T. a great movie was that Spielberg nailed the "feeling" of the time (1982). However, of all his films, E.T. did not grow gracefully. It became rather dated looking really quickly.
