Eric Green, an NFL cornerback, is being sued for forcibly sodomizing a transgendered woman last year in Arizona. The two met at a casino while Green still played for the Arizona Cardinals, a team with which the Green went to the Super Bowl last year. The victim, Angelina Mavilia, filed a $10 million sexual assault suit against Green.

Some believe that Green could have been set up. The NFLer was possibly tricked into believing that Mavilia had been a woman her entire life and was not transgendered. Then, when the two went back to his condo, Green could have discovered the woman's genitals and reacted harshly. Though, no evidence leads to this conclusion so far, this type of scam has taken place in previous cases.

Did Eric Green get scammed into these sexual assault charges?

Are you ACTUALLY insinuating that there's a justification for rape?

Or are you saying its okay when its a transperson, because in your narrow minded world, gender variant people somehow have less rights?

Either way... you are truly a sick, heartless person.

"Set up"? "Scam"? Who cares if he knew or not? Rape is rape -- and throwing a fit after realizing you've gone home with a trans woman is not justifiable in any way. And saying a woman who says she was raped was "scamming" her rapist is an old, nasty tradition that's thrown in the faces of rape survivors again and again. This article/poll is violently transphobic and sexist. I've also heard that "transgender" is preferred by many over "transgendered", but compared to the overall hate in this article, that's just icing on the cake.

A rape joke and an "LOL GAY" joke, both at the same time -- how classy of you. Rape is not a joke.

    A) Mavilia is a woman so it wasn't gay sex.
    B) Rape is wrong regardless.

First off,how the hell you wait almost a full year to come out with this if you got raped. He shouldn't have been playing this season like everyone else that got in trouble and went to jail, sounds real suspect, times are hard and people are looking for quick paydays.

It's hell going through all the stuff you've got to go through when you file rape charges, from everything I've heard about it. You have to re-live the rape, and endure hateful accusations of lying, among other things.

Look, you take a chance when you hook up with someone you do not know. Especially when you are someone with fame and money. Eric Green should have known better. Then again, he could have been a little drunk, so who knows. Was he set up? Possibly, but the same thing could have happened if it involved a woman. Everyone is tryin' to get paid anyway they can. Oh well, Eric, hard lesson to learn honey, hard lesson to learn.

Mavilia IS a woman. And like the poster above you, you're talking like Green was the victim -- HE WAS NOT.

you people are so dumb!!! theyre saying "scammed" meaning she/he made the whole thing up and is trying to get his $!!! not saying scammed as in she /he tricked eric into sleeping with her!! everyone knows rape is wrong no matter the situation! No one would even post this saying rape is ok if you didnt know it was a man. That sounds so stupid, your taking "Scammed" and flipping it the wrong way!! But really the bitches cases should get thrown out of court asap, you cant come a year later trying to say something like this happened! either he didnt do it at all or it was consensual and she found out who he was and he had money and tried to make a quick come up!

Re-read the OP, it clearly states, "Green could have discovered the woman's genitals and reacted harshly." NOT "The victim is lying."

There is a reason rape has such a long statute of limitations- the victim is often afraid to come forward, especially if you take into consideration her additional allegations of mistreatment/abuse at the hands of police, she likely was afraid of being futher humiliated and endangered by coming forward.

I agree with mudpuppy. I also think it's sad and scary that sexist and transphobic opinions like yours are the norm, rather than fringe opinions we could all laugh at -- accusing rape survivors of lying and calling them "bitches" isn't any better than saying rape is okay, and saying that a trans woman is really a man is deeply wrong and bigoted. Your opinions are still laughable, mind you, but less funny when I consider how many judges and politicians feel the same way...

it wouldn't be OK for Eric Green to forcibly sodomize a man or a woman, and it's not OK to focibly sodomize a transgender either

A trans WOMAN, in this case -- she isn't any less of a woman than a cis (non-trans) woman.

I'm sorry- was he SCAMMED? He had a reason to sodomize someone because he was tricked?

Yeah, that's what's being said -- and it's not even a trick! The "Scam" in question is that she allegedly didn't tell him she'd had surgery. So what the article is saying is: "if you're trans and have had surgery, you have to go around telling everyone, lest you be mistaken for non-trans (which would be a HUGE DISASTER), or you deserve whatever you get". So yeah, the article is trying to justify rape, using transphobia as a justification.
