Elvis impersonators should be shaking in their boots! The true King of Rock and Roll will be joining the ranks of Tupac, MJ, and Marilyn and will be making a comeback in holographic form.
Digital Domain Media Group, the company behind the Tupac Shakur hologram, announced this week that it is planning to virtually resurrect Elvis Presley across a variety of platforms—movies, television, concerts, etc.
“Elvis Presley is the king of rock and roll . . . you have to start with the king,” Ed Ulbrich, Chief Creative Officer at Digital Domain told MTV News this week. “We’re in the creative development stages now. Instead of a single application we’re looking to bring Elvis back across a host of platforms, including live concerts in venues.”
The Elvis hologram may end up being amazing, but this announcement got us wondering whether this trend is really a good idea.
Will holograms be the end of live impersonators? Why should we watch movies or television shows about Marilyn when we can just go see her “live”? Shouldn’t the dead be allowed to rest in peace?
What do you think SodaHeads? Are holographic performers a great trend or just wrong?

WTF happened to the post baby boomers children and on?
Bunch of nasty asses and slobs?
Want to bring something back from then? Bring back soap and water, with descent dress attire. lol.
Look at the people behind Elvis and Margret.
I went to many high school dances and bigger dance events, and they were dressed just like the people behind him and her, with only the exception of jeans, which were clean and pressed ones I might add. How old are you?
Really, ask me arrogantly, "do I know they are in a movie". Ha, well, that's so funny.
The two guys to Elvis's right were dressed just like this for a typical night out in my generation. So were the guy and gal to Margret’s left.
What generation of losers did you come from?
Boy, you must be young, and think things you see from older generations in movies are fake.
Stay with post about your generation and don’t sound dumb.
How many tattoos do you have?
“you obviously lead a priviledged life” (Your quote, You misspelled Privileged),
You have no idea what you’re talking about.
I worked hard in the summers to just pay for stuff at school and buy some cloths to be a part of the crowd and NOT look poor.
My three daughters are Baby Boomer babies, now 42, 40 and 37 with 7 children among the three families. All graduated from college, and worked summers too.
They were never slobs and never looked like the generations I see today.
Bellies hanging over short cut jeans that don’t have rooms for ones hips, short cut tops so they can show their muffin top bellies. Oh did I mention tattoos?
Yes, my Baby Boomer children are clean cut professionals.
