Elton John Says Madonna's Career Is 'Over,' Compares Her to a 'Stripper': Right On or Dead Wrong?

Don't expect to hear an Elton John-Madonna mash-up anytime soon. In the latest spat in their long-running feud, Elton John told an interviewer that the queen of pop's career is "over"... and that the iconic pop star kind of looks like a "stripper."

"She’s such a nightmare. Her career’s over...and she looks like a f***ing fairground stripper. She’s been so horrible to Gaga," he said in an interview that aired on Australia’s Channel 7 program Sunday Night.

John's pal Lady Gaga happens to be the godmother of his son Zachary with partner David Furnish. Now, it's true that Madonna hasn't exactly been supportive of Gaga -- even implying that she copied one of her tunes -- but we still think Elton John is being pretty harsh. And knowing Madonna, she'll relish the chance to fire back where it hurts. Do you think Elton John is right about Madge?

Elton John is so right. Madonna is having to use her body to get her name in the media. She is supposed to be a singer not a stripper! It is such a shame she has to stoop that low to get a audience to hear her.

Elton John can at least perform musically and entertain people. Madonna cannot. His sexuality has nothing to do with his music, nor his fairly accurate opinion of Madonna.

it's just Madonna really is embarrassing. I mean how old is the woman, in her 50s from what I know.... I do think it's good for her for keeping in shape, but I would think the 20-year-old tactics would go out the window. I don't know. The whole thing she did with mocking Jesus Christ is what really threw me against her.

Elton can draw listeners, and he is always invited to big events to perform- Diamond Jubiless most lately, without being an embarassment.

I'm a fan of Elton John, but his voice is not near as good as it once was. That's what happens when one ages. I hate to see him go, but it's time before he embarasses himself like Paul McCartney did at the opening of the Olympics. Sad.

I like Elton John and Madonna but Elton needs to think before he speaks.. at least Madonna is still putting out new music that ends up on the charts... I can't remember the last NEW Elton John song that went anywhere on the charts. Yes, Elton has a ton of old hits he can redo and throw out another album or two but if anyone is trading on old fame and glory.. it's Elton.

Madonna is one of those artist that will never be forgotten. She is still a great artist. She was born in a different time than Lady Gaga. Her past songs are legend, Lady Gaga came second. Yes its not right Madonna sort of copied lady gaga's tune and that she has to realise her days are over, but she is still a legend. The queen of pop. Elton John has always held a grudge over Madonna but he has to get over it because the clash or whatever betweenthem happened ages ago. Seriously, that dude has to mind his own business.

Madonna a legend. Maybe, but where does that leave Whitney Houston, who for the record had a far superior vocal range and power, and like Lady Gaga is today, was far more versatile. You might argue that Houston watsed her talent, while Madonna has been peractically immortal, but I would like to know.

She used to be popular but now she's trying why too hard to stay relevant. She's like the opposite of aging gracefully because she's clinging to her youth. It's depressing, I hope gaga doesn't do something similar when she gets to that point.
