It’s been a little over five years since Ellen Page rose to stardom in the indie film “Juno.” But after continuing to build an impressive acting resume, she’s making a move behind the camera. The Canadian actress will make her directing debut with “Miss Stevens.” Anna Farris will star as the title character, a discombobulated teacher who finds herself while chaperoning a weekend high school field trip.

While the 25-year-old clearly has no experience in the driver’s seat of a movie, she’s certainly had an opportunity to learn from some of the very best. After all, she’s done everything from arthouse flicks like “An American Crime” to blockbusters like “Inception.” So she’s had time to soak up a lot of knowledge between takes.
From her “Juno” director, Jason Reitman, she might have picked up a tip or two about hipster comedy. Film icon Woody Allen, who guided her in “To Rome with Love,” might have taught her to make sure it’s all on the page before the cameras even role. And her “Whip It” boss Drew Barrymore, might have been an example of how hard it can be to make the move behind the camera for the very first time.

One things for sure, it’s not an easy transition and many others have failed. What do you think: Does Ellen Page have what it takes to be a good director?

industry, then she ought to do fairly well in directing.
"As long as she does not try to direct another remake of "Psycho." I would have been happy to mentor her in my day."
I've been impressed with her since I saw her in "Hard Candy" and then in "Juno"...
