Donte Stallworth, of the Cleveland Browns, will be allowed to train during his house arrest. Stallworth was convicted of manslaughter in June of 2009. Donte Stallworth was arrested for a DUI and manslaughter after killing a construction worker, Mario Reyes, while driving drunk. Donte Stallworth was suspended by the NFL, but he is still under contract with the Cleveland Browns. As soon as Stallworth is released on house arrest, he will be able to leave his home to train for the football season with the Browns.

    Well on this topic I have mixed feelings. One if it were any regular person they wouldn't allow them to train or do anything basically except be under house arrest,especaily on the count of manslaughter. Also my other feeling about it is, football is his job so therefore I think he should be able to work.

    This is Donte job and I think a man should be able to work. We look at it as a game but this is how player make a living. Let's just hope he not on the road driving when you are out there. If he is playing football he is not in a car.

    man he got away with murder , vick wasnt alowed to train he got millions if he cant train at home then he souldnt train plus he suspended so what he training for oh i for got he got to pay off the family

    Why not? If he cleans up his act he may turn out to be a highly valuable player. If he persists in getting violent and drunk, he will throw away a fine career. The ball's in his court, and one can only hope he makes the right play.

    No matter the infraction the player should be done until his confinement is up. The average Joe would be INSIDE his house on house arrest so should Mr Stallworth. After you pay the price and do the time you should then be considered rehabilitated until otherwise proven.

    Mr. Stallworth should be held to the same criteria as anyone else in his position. There are parolees whose parole officers, not all but some, are so self-imprtant and punitive they won't allow them movement to go to school or job training - just another case of "subjective" treatment under the law that in theory demands equal treatment. I really don't mind if Donte gets to train, I would just like other less famous people to be able to do what they need to do to rebuild their lives! That would entail stricter supervision and better oversight of criminal justice employees regarding rational treatment of everyone. What a concept!

    I never heard of this Dante Stalewank, and I don't give a flying fig about professional sports, but if he is under a legally imposed house arrest, then he should NOT be allowed to train.

    "Arrest" means to STOP -- as in cardiac arrest. So if you are under ARREST then by definition you are supposed to STOP whatever you've been doing. Hellooooooo!

    For the sake of an intellectual argument let's say that Mr. Stallworth is a plumber and without his OJT he will become unemployed and a burden to society. But if he continues training he will remain employed and to some degree atone for his error through some form of monetary restitution. What is the argument against that?

    why is what any different? no there is nothing wrong with training but if your punishment collides with that training he should suck it up be a man and do his time house arrest never killed anyone he did idiot
