Does Tim Tebow Deserve More Support From Management?

The football pundits said Tim Tebow can't be an NFL quarterback. Darrelle Revis said Tebow couldn't beat the New York Jets (he did). Denver Broncos executive says Tebow's gotta improve and did not give him a full endorsement. But Tebow has the most important support he can get on the field -- the support of his teammates.

The former Florida Gator and college football legend is now 5-1 as a starter, helping take the Broncos from 1-4 and last place in the AFC West to nipping at the heels of division leader Oakland. "This is a special team, a special team when you have a bunch of guys that when things aren't going good we get closer instead of pulling apart," Tebow said, following a huge win over the San Diego Chargers on Sunday. "The number one reason we are like that is because we believe in each other, we believe in the coaching staff."

At 6-5, the Broncos are still a threat to their division and at the very least, a solid Wild Card contender in a crowded playoff race that includes the Baltimore Ravens, New York Jets, and Cincinnati Bengals. Tebow was just 9-for-18 on Sunday, but he did rush 22 times for 67 yards and most importantly, he protected the football.

Overall, the entire Broncos team and head coach John Fox's staff can share the credit for their recent success. But make no mistake about it, Tebow has given them the spark they needed. Whether that leads to stronger support from the Broncos front office? Only time will tell. If the wins keep coming, Tim Tebow and his fans won't have to worry.

He has a lot of heart and spirit. At the Oakland game with everyone shouting "Tebow sucks!" at the half, Tebow came back out, pulled ahead and won the game. The embarrassed Oakland crowd was leaving the stands early because Tebow never lost heart. Another thing I like about Tebow is his desire to show his faith in spite of the ridicule he receives over that in addition to everything else. I'm not a Gator fan or a Bronco's fan but I am a Tebow fan now. Go Tim!

Tim Tebow is a wonderful Breath of Fresh Air to Professional Sports. And regardless of his on-the-field prowess, he has become the type of role model every parent either does or should want their child to be like. Thank you Tim Tebow, for being just who you are, in the face of adversity and a mocking crowd. As Christians we will be mocked and persecuted, but there are many who need to believe and to have hope, in a seemingly hopeless world.

They are letting him play, lead the team and prove himself. Elway's comments were approprite if a little blunt. Fox has been supportive and is more so as the team wins.

Right now Tebow is playing on a mediocre team and making the difference that lets it beat other mediocre teams. Hopefully he continues to improve and win. Nothing gets management support like winning big.

I disliked Tebow as a collegian and thought that he was over-rated. But as he kept winning he earned my grudging respect. Still don't understand why the pros don't like him but I suspect that they will come to respect him as well. The guy has some intangible qualities that help led to victories.

Tebow is a fad like Jerry Glanville's "Run and Gun" and last years "Wildcat". Someone will figure out how to stop him and he will become infective. John knows this and thats why he is looking for a QB that can run the team the way he likes. Tebow should be turned into a Running Back because thats what he's good at. The Bronco's are going to play a team that puts them in a whole and turns them "one dimensional", they will have to Pass the ball and play catch up. Tebow cant do that.

Remember the movie "Nerds" ? remember how the Gay guy threw his specially made Javelin and what he looked like when he did it? Thats what Tebow looks like when he throws the Football.

In all honesty, Teabow doesn’t need the support of his management all the young man needs is Christ; he makes that clear at every game. He doesn’t care for the limelight, but rather has made it quite clear that all he loves is God, his family and football; his heart is made of gold and his love of the game is so crystal clear.

no but getting the rings is a great feat and what happens if Tebow never gets a ring or gets hurt .But proving your self in the game as a quarterback winning is what gets you support and Tebow hasn't been in the NFL that long,I myself think he will have a great career as long as he stays healthy.
  • Brad ed 2011/11/30 11:49:59
    Brad
So...it's how long you've been in the NFL, not how many rings. I agree with that, only time will tell.
  • ed Brad 2011/11/30 23:09:43
    ed
the rings help but as far as Tebow is concern he is a good running quarterback that eventually will get tagged a good lick but he also needs to work on his passing.

They should...at least for this season. That doesn't mean they will keep him or put him back in the QB position next season. Tebow is winning and that's all that matters but people seem to forget or just overlook that the defense is playing stellar. They are the reason Tebow and the Broncos offense can win by scoring barely any points.

Let's see, he is handsome, talented. loves God, and is not afraid to show his faith. He is encouraging to his team even when they are losing, has leadership and honor oozing from his pores and has been a man of his word-so far. What isn't to love about him?

he is a unique and interesting man, for sure.
