My mother used to tell me stories. Beautiful, fantastic stories with a princess, monsters, and charming princes who were always good and kind.
That was years ago, before I knew she was Insane. That was when I still loved her. Now the government keeps the monsters behind the Dam, and the only princes I see are rotting in the square.
But that is all behind me. Now I'm a Ward, and my mother is no longer a threat. I am safe.
I was safe...until today.
Today, I will see my mother for the first time in ten years. This is the day I will face the monster I once loved.
