Both I and my husband had already decided to be organ donors, but certainly his story reinforces our decision.

I have been an organ donor for years and recently joined a willed body program at a
local medical school. If my body can help survival rates in any way, I say "I'm yours."

I didn't need inspiration to make that choice, it just came as naturally as donating blood, donating to other causes, and just being a giving person in general.

IT is NOT That difficult to provide proper references so that folks can actually discuss/debate ..

Actually, it did. I watched a movie about his story many years ago, and I thought about him when they asked if I wanted to be an organ donor when I got my driver's permit.

Trouble with that graph is it's for the UK and I have a friend over there who has waited 6 months for lithotripsy to free up her kidneys from blockage, agony and possible death. Plus if she ends up needing dialysis she can't have it because at 65 it's not given.

A guy broke his arm and had to wait so long for a dr. to seem him it set wrong.

he was traveling with his family in italy, and was shot. if i remember, his parts were donated to save over 9 people ......
