I'll be the first to say that they're aren't the best actors/actresses, and I'm an HP fan.
But if horrible movies like Twilight get nominated, then the HP actors should. Twilight gets WAY too much praise for such a crappy series.
Maybe not an Oscar win, but a nomination would be nice.

Emma Watson said she was sickened by how much money she's making on the "Harry Potter" movies, but the highest-grossing film series of all time has left its cast Oscar-less.
In fact, the "Harry Potter" series hasn't won a single Academy Award.
Rupert Grint, who plays Ron Weasley, told This Is London, "We don't expect [to be nominated.] Either way, the final movie will be huge. We did some re-shoots at the end of the year. We're really going to go out with a bang. That's everyone's goal really. It's kind of going to be pretty epic."
The crew might have a shot, though. The art and effects departments have been nominated again this year for "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1," giving the series a total of nine Oscar nominations since the first film came out in 2001.
"It would be great to see the technical [team] recognition," Grint added. "They devote their whole lives to it."
But what about an acting nomination for Daniel Radcliffe, Grint or Watson? Do they deserve it?

However, it got nominated for I believe it's visual effects and either music or art. Now, that, which out a doubt, deserves it.
I was really impressed with the score of the film.. : /
I am as well. I actually am trying to track down a soundtrack, it was really moving.
Just to join in on what others are saying, if Twilight wins, I swear I'll protest. Crappy actors, crappy storylines, everything about Twilight is wrong.
My friends found a lot of entertainment from reading them.
Seeing as how it doesn't exist, I believe it does Ma'am. Harry Potter isn't about witchcraft being evil, it's about a story of good v.s. evil. One of which good triumphs.
It is about witchcraft.
Only if you can't see past that to capture the true meaning of the story. But it's ok, many can't do that.
If I may ask, do you also not like The Chronicles of Narnia as well? It also has witchcraft, but it, just as Harry Potter, is not only amazing, teaches valuable lessons in loyalty and love.
Anything with satanic influence in it is to be rejected and no matter what you say Harry Potter is not good for kids.
I find it interesting that its author JK Rowlings has the same initials as another British citizen..JacK the Ripper.
