A 21-year-old woman from Russia is taking the Internet by storm as a so-called "real-life Barbie." Valeria Lukyanova doesn't just have the inhuman measurements of a Barbie doll, but also has the stark blue eyes, plasticky blonde hair, and immaculate makeup. Her look is so shocking that some sources are questioning whether or not she's a real person.

Online, commenters are debating the integrity of her constructed appearance. Some criticize her for setting unrealistic standards: "[I] feel hideous now. Thank you for putting me off my food and making me feel fat." She's been called "ugly," "scary," and even "boring." Others argue that her "unhealthy obsession on looking like a Barbie doll" could be considered "a part of her identity." Does this so-called "real life Barbie" freak you out?

Barbie's makeup is much more tasteful in my opinion.

Also, the pictures look photoshopped at least to some extent. Without the gobs of makeup, dumb facial expressions and too thin eyebrows she would look great. Well she does look the same in every picture- just like Barbie.

This scares me:

I thought she would, but no. Maybe it's somewhat shocking upon first seeing it, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

At least it's a better look than horrible orange spray tans and duck faces.

Doesn't freak me out, but am concerned that she may well be anorexia. If she's had several operations to help get this way, too isn't good on her body or organs. I mean the body can go into a form of shock from over doing it. I don't think people were born to look like dolls or even robots...and this can border on robots.

That she feels the need to make herself look like a Barbie doll is sad. What is also sad is that I can understand why she would feel the need to capitalize on it. This is what all women have been told we are "supposed" to be.

She underwent surgery to look like a barbie doll according to online sources. She looks a bit too thin in some of her pics but I think is attractive, not my preference of looks for myself though. I must she should she be able to live her life the way she wants but I also believe she should not broadcast herself to the world because the world is influential and not for the better in this case. She is pretty much like the rest of the media, fake and yet promoting it, making others feel less.
