Too many ... How about the BCS bowl games and leave it at that, i.e. Fiesta, Orange, Rose, Sugar and National Championship ... or my wife will divorce me for watching too many college football games ...

Why in [insert name of very hot place here] is UCLA getting some sort of special dispensation to go to a bowl game with a LOSING RECORD? I realize that some bowl games have tie ins with conferences, but they should all have outs if the team that would normally fill that slot (4th or 5th place iin a conference, for example) doesn't otherwise qualify.

I'm torn. on one hand, yes; it's absurd that 6-6 teams are playing in the post-season. On the other hand, i don't know if it's possible to have too many games, when the kids playing them, are playing with as much passion as some of them (especially seniors) put in; knowing they may never suit up again. They're really fun to watch.

Maybe/ maybe not but you don't have to watch them all. However, they should have proper post season tournaments to decide number 1, not leave it up to the sports press.

There aren't THAT many colleges that each one needs to get into a bowl game. Come one, we have SEVENTY teams that are deemed bowl-worthy. I doubt they're all good.

I don't follow football -- even though I enjoy watching a game now and then -- but I believe the correct answer would lie in the attendance records for all the bowl games. If there are too many, then you will have empty seats in the stadiums to give you the best clues. But if people are attending and supporting -- as I continually hear them doing quite loudly every year -- then I suppose there aren't too many, are there.

There are some of the lesser bowls that have poor attendance...that or else many fans are dressing up as 'empty seats.'

Seriously, though, if there are lesser bowl games that are not attracting sufficient fans, then they should be eliminated, don't you think? Just a matter of economics, really. But I don't say that lightly to ignore the fact that there ARE fans who would like to see the games. Sad situation but stuff happens. A good bowl game brings in the bucks for so many entities; that's good. Bad returns on games are not good.

Get back to basic Bowls... Rose, Sugar, Orange, Liberty, Cotton, & Senior Bowl, Independence Bowl. If your school don't have a winning record and if your school has more than four losses they aren't going to a Bowl.

No, because the Universities and the Conferences and the NCAA make money from them . . . We need that here in the USA . . . What we don't need is Fanny Mae, Freddi Mac, Chris Dodd, Barney Frank, and Maxine Waters . . . The ONLY REASON that Occupy likes them is because they think that is who is going to pay their Sudent Loans.
