I watched it a couple of times & thought it was stupid.

I don't watch brain dead morally deprived shows. This nonsense started with the Simpsons where adults were treated like morons and parents wondered why children have no respect for adults. Several spin offs and imitators now have brought it even further down the road. South Park, there was a sad statement on what we think is funny.

I take it you feel the same way about soap operas?

We get American Dad and Family Guy here in uk..I watch both but tbh I by far prefer Family Guy...love Stewie..x

I hate reality shows, they make Americans look dysfunctional and desperate and cut throat. It is not reality when a producer is handing you an agenda you must follow and you are aware that a film crew is in the room. You are not going to act yourself and you do not have to be Sigmund Freud to see this.

To tell you the truth I sort of shot from the hip and judged it by name, its not my apologies. I thought it was a show like that, I can see its a cartoon. If I don't make an ass out of myself at least once I day I am not happy.

A lot of people see it as better than Family Guy, but I think American Dad is better. Family Guy is based off of stupid humor and I just don't find it funny. It's just an extremely stupid show. It has less of a plot than shows children watch. I don't love American Dad either, but it's not as stupid most of the time.

I agree. "Family Guy" relies too heavily on flashbacks and cutaway gags, and pop culture references with no actual joke behind them other than the reference itself. It's just lazy writing. At least the writers of "American Dad" writers can actually write a joke. But I'll take "South Park" over either. I used to watch "The Simpsons," but not so much anymore.

South Park is actually my favorite out of all the shows you just mentioned. All the jokes actually make sense and are based off something. (usually) Family Guy and American Dad are by the same person I think. I'm pretty sure Family Guy was made the way it was to prove a point. The creator wanted to prove that most of us liked stupid humor. In a way it says we are stupid that we laugh about things that make no sense.The creator woke up one day and thought : I'm going to make a show that is completely based off stupid humor. I bet that almost anyone is going to like it. I will make lots of money and it'll prove my theory correct. It's a win - win situation for me.

That's how I see it in my mind. Too bad I can't show you the facial expressions I saw painted on the creators face. lol
