The red carpet at the Capitol Hilton in Washington, D.C. was filled with journalists, celebrities and politicians for the 99th Annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner Saturday night.

The stars attended as guests of various media outlets and compared this red carpet to the ones they’re used to in Hollywood. Cast members from “Modern Family,” “Nashville,” “Scandal” and “House of Cards” were just a few stars seen on the red carpet. “There’s so many beautiful celebrities here,” said actress Sofia Vergara.

I think that it has become Extremely Costly . . . Way too Expensive . . . The Sequester doesn't even Qualify to extirpate the useless, costly-event . . . None of those so-called jokes were even funny at all . . . What a real, real waste of tax-payer money . . .

Hollywood has played a role in Washington before, but I just feel like we're seeing a lot of aristocratic partying while the common man struggles to catch a break. I never did enjoy how closely this Administration associates itself with popular culture.

It makes it painfully obvious that our government has went from hard working, statesmen, representatives who truly knew the trials and tribulations of the people, and fought to keep liberties for the people, into nothing more then Hollywood...smoke and mirrors. Hollywood has no business in Washington, and Washington no business in Hollywood. We've come a long way, and not for he better. The dumbing down of America and the priorities of Americans, it's not wonder people from around the globe look down on us.

It is an awards ceremony and fund raiser. But more importantly, it is not funded by the White House or taxpayers.

Wrong, the purpose of the Correspondents Dinner is to acknolege and award exceptional journalist, give the administration the opportunity to smooze with the press and vise-versa and PRESENT scholarships.

    Your quote
"Wrong, the purpose of the Correspondents Dinner is to acknolege and award exceptional journalist, give the administration the opportunity to smooze with the press and vise-versa and PRESENT scholarships."

I am not wrong, and you once again look like an ass. I crack myself up,

    Here is my quote

"It is an awards ceremony and fund raiser. But more importantly, it is not funded by the White House or taxpayers."

I gave you the links, as you asked. Obviously it is sliding into the scholarship arena as the years pass. Do me a favor, seriously, if you wish to converse with me, read.
Ignorance is reversible, stupid goes to the bone. There is a vast amount of information out there, and if you read, you would know that. You deleted the post that showed how ignorant you truly are, but let us not double down on stupid.

You wish so badly to catch me at something, and perhaps you will, but not likely, especially because you do not read. I research my comments, I know the subject, and rarely do I make mistakes. You truly look the fool. I do not know you but I do not wish you ill, but seriously, read.

Considering all you hear about are the celebrities, I'd have to say yes.

I just can't get out of my mind the fact that tours of the White House ended because of budgetary reasons (supposedly) and yet they find the money to throw this lavish party.

The current Presidential Administration along with instructions from David Axelrod (the biggest Jackal of them all and without a conscience nor a Country so to speak who uses computer models to estimate the best course of action historically for our current President Marxist Pied Piper of America who has Sympathy for any Terrorist and Terrorist Organization that is related to his past religion and his father's past religion) are trying to duplicate the historic popularity of President Kennedy and wife whom were both associated with Hollywood on a regular basis to remain popular with voters.
