Do you think the phrase "My Chemical Romance saved my life" is over used?

well ya sorta yah imeen its tru in most cases but i nevr rely say it cuz yah its pretty ovr used

I'm a fan of My Chemical Romance,i truly adore them,but i can't believe they saved somenone's life with their songs...it's 'too much'...they can console you or help you get through tough times but that's all...

yea ppl use i tand not mean it just 2 get attention i use it as the truth and dont like the attention so when i say"MCR SAVED MY F*CKING LIFE" i mean it

but for me its a true statement. My Chemical Romance has definitely saved my life. and i mean it too. But people who say it just to say it, they dont know real pain and what its like to have hope again, so stop freakin saying it if you dont actually mean it.

i luv mcr more than any thing, but wen most fans say they saved their lives is a bit unbelievable

I feel some people do.Just for the attention and cos they think its cool.If they really have thats cool.But yeah some people use to much and its annoying.

for some people mcr really has saved their life and in that case it is great to say that... for others they just say it to get attention which is where it becomes over used.

yea it is a little .. to the point where it seems a little commercialized .. i love mcr to death but fans need to keep it a perosnal thing with mcr and the whole saving lives thing .. it dosent sound the same any more when you say mcr saves lives .. i kind of feel like im a little teeny bopper who only likes mcr becasue of their looks or something like that

we as fans need to stop overusing the term 'mcr saves lives' becasue then it would come to a point that .. it would seem like we dont mean it ..

if mcr really (and i stress really) did save your life .. feel free to share it to the world .. but for kids who mcr hasnt really saved you life .. dont use the term

you can still be a huge fan to mcr if they havent ... having them not save your life dosent mean your less of a fan to someone who the band has saved a life for

i dont use the whole 'mcr saves lives term' mainly becasue .. my life never needed saving . but it needed alot of improving .. and and tahts what mcr has done for me ...

MCR has definately changed alot of people's lives, and in some cases, saved it.
If it's actually true, then it isn't a cliche; but when people use it as a cliche, just stating that they love my chem, then it becomes unnecescary.

I know that MCR have dramatically changed many peoples lives and probably helped give them hope to stay alive but there are so many people who just say it because other people do, as if it's gonna make them seem cooler or something.

Sometimes. In some cases it's WAY over used, i.e. if I said they saved my life that would be stupid, though they did change it dramatically. Although sometimes its accurate.

no offence to any of the fans that im about to mention, but those that have heard a few songs, or just their latest album n r all like "OMG MCR saved my life!" they didnt.

it was the first two albums that said it was ok to be different and showed that there are others that can make something of themselves through difficult times, the latest album is a concept album, not one about their feelings. it's the first two albums, possibly even just the first that "saved lives" not the third.

I don't know. The question is why did you say that they saved your life or how did they saved you? Or, are you the one who saved one of them?

yeah, people say it a lot. but for some it really is true.

as long as it's true then i don't see a problem with someone admiting that. but if someone says that just to fit into a clique of some kind or something than those words are utterly meaningless

I think that as long as a statement is true, it can not be overused or become a cliche. This band has helped many people deal with tough issues and can be credited for changing the lives of many fans.

Not saying the phrase is overused and meaningless.
But my chemical romance does, and did save many lives, but today it's used freely. Mcr saved me, they saved me, oh mcr.
Its being stated from people who could care the fuck less about mcr.
They're music, or the fans.
THey say it so freely, and thats why its overused, but not meaningless. Because they honestly did, save my life. :]

I agree with the last comment, I mean the boys do help so many people, myself included, but sometimes if people just say it for the sake of it, it loses it's meaning and significance ... I guess it depends on sincerity.

the phrase will only be considered overused ,when they (MCR) have infact really stopped saving lifes! MCR is an amazing band , inspiring and motivates love for ones own life.
For this reason and more, I honeslty think the phrase " My Chemical Romance save my life" in NOT over used!

If it's true, and they really did, then great. Say it.
But don't just go around saying it for the hell of it when it's not true for you, because it gets really annoying. It IS possible for you to like a band without them having 'saved your life.' If you feel strongly about MCR's music, but haven't been brought back from the edge because of it, people aren't going to shun you. It doesn't make people any less of a fan because of it.

It's not overused. They saved my life twice now. And they changed it forever.

i love mcr....but too many people use it just for the attention....if it is REALLY true for you great say it......if not just say what the misic has done for you....only truth!

Some people do over use a bit just because your a fan doesn't mean they saved your life but some people honestly feel that way and the lyrics really have effected them that deeply.

If people really truly mean it then they should say it.....but if they are just saying it and were really never close to suicide or something terrible like that, then they really shouldn't be saying it. That's a very positive message and it shouldn't be taken lightly.

That's when u give em a good pat on the back and tell themem "good for you"- I can't believe how one minute some people are bitchin and complaining that suicide is stupid and that it's overrated- but now everyone's complaining that a saying a band saved ur life is...I do think it is a little over the top to go around telling people that to get attention though.
