Do you think that the public outcry for justice is responsible for Vick losing his NFL contract and all other endorsements?

Sick Vick did himself in, no one else had anything to do with that. The public outcry for justice is for the innocent dogs he slaughtered.

I'm hoping that comitting a crime was enough. It is nice to know that so many people are against him for what he did to these innocent, precious dogs.

He done it to hisself. According to the news he is also a pot head, now why doesn;t that surprise me. So he kills and abuses animals for his enjoyment. He smokes pot, my God, he doesn't really sound like a heroe, more like scum.

I'm confused - when did Vick actually lose his contract? I thought he was just suspended. Regardless, Vick is responsible for his situation. He put himself where he is by committing heinous crimes against animals. Period. Public outcry definitely had a hand in it however. Of course, if sponsors think they will look bad or lose money they can be swayed. God knows, they wouldn't pull his endorsements because they have half a brain and would just do the right thing on their own. Gotta hit 'em in the wallet.

It's not about 'public outcry'. Please, this is a legal issue. Animal cruelty, thank goodness, is against the law.

I think that we all underestimate the gambling angle. Despite Vicks' attorneys deft attempt to claim that Vick did not actually gamble himself because he let his colleagues take the winnings, he is in a world of trouble just on the gambling angle. He wasn't a mere gambler - he was the "house" that faciliated an illegal gambling operation. If a player is to be suspended for placing bets on any kind of sporting event and to be banned for betting on his sport, how could he not be in trouble for actually creating the gambling activity. His loser friends didn't have the capability of setting up Bad Newz Kennels - Vick is the one who made it happen.

It is my opinion that the public outroar over the animal cruelty issue, however significant, is really the secondary issue. Years from now when Vick's re-instatement really becomes an issue, the gambling will be the much harder for the NFL to forget.

This is an angle I think has been over looked- and it is a valid and far reaching one at that. I totally appreciate a fresh view and that of one that is not as emotionally charged.

If they could have swept it under the rug they would have. I've seen too much preferential treatment given to those who ware famous. Fortunately, when people and sponsors start yelling, it's all over.. YAY

Of course it is. The endorsements were not pulled right away, only after people began to protest and the companies realized everyone hated him.

Are you saying that Vick is innocent and the media made this up? Are you saying this is a race issue? If you are, I suggest you do your due dilligence- you will see that Vick is a diabolical sociopath, and he should ne be allowed to associate with any race, he is a breed of his own.

Yes, sponsors are a bunch of wennies and spinless. They go with the flow. It was a good thing that they dropped Michael Vick, but it's almost like the Imus thing. In my opinion, the sponsors over reacted with Imus. Was it wrong what he said? Yes, of course... but his punishment was way too extreme.

Nope, and I don't hear you supporting them either.

But to answer your question as to why nobody is talking about them is because they will never be on an NFL field, and we will not be forced to sit down to enjoy a Sunday football game and be forced to look at their faces and be reminded of drowned, starved, electrocuted, hung puppies.

Does that help you any? Why do people NEED to explain these things to you? Anyone with an ounce of sense could figure these things out for themselves.

IF PEOPLE READ AND STOP TALKING FOR A SECOND THEY WOULD SEE ALOT OF THINGS............MIKE VICK PLEADED GUILTY TO FEDARAL CONSPIRACY CHARGES OF DOGG FIGHTING..........THE OTHERS PLEADED GUILTY FOR RUNNING THE DOGG RING AND VICK PROVIDED THE MONEY AND HELPED UNHUMANELY KILL THE DOGGS(i kno that this is still wrong), but why support the others when the world is taking everything out on Mike Vick............Don't nobody including the media have a damn thing to say about the others invovled.........Its all about Vick............I don't want u to think i'm arguing with u over this its just not coming to me.

Dog fighting in intolerable, as are other forms of overt torture of living things, and if we as a society are a civilized as we proclaim, we must put a stop to this now. I am glad he is the posterchild for animal abuse and torture, because now we have a chance to stop it for good. He was happy to take the adulation for the sposorships and NFL endorsements, he should be just as much of a man and except the fact that he is now branded as the epitomy of evil for his cruel, inhumane, sociopathic actions. BTW, the others did not have the exposure and the millions of fans and the civic responsibility that Vick took on himself when he signed those contracts.

The dogfighting ring NOR the killings would ever have happened without Vick's money. These other guys didn't have two nickels to rub together, never mind the kind of money it takes to buy, train, and keep fighting dogs and the purses involved in the fights.

Yes, they did do what they wanted to do, but still, it would have NEVER been possible without Vick-- I am thinking in terms of all those dogs who would not have suffered, not in terms of who has the most guilt--I think they all share in the % of guilt, but it has to be considered in regard to the fate of these dogs, that if Vick didn't have the money it would have never been done in the first place and the misery and torture of so many dogs would not have taken place.

And lets face it, those guys are going to do time too. The only reason they are not being discussed is because it is NOT an option that they will be in the NFL after their incarceration--

    Spider,

I feel your passion, but I don't agree with you 100%. The problem is stories like helping children, or resolving the poverty issue, or getting better school books in the DC schools is not good selling news stories. It's about $$$. And PETA has alot of pull politically.

The people I KNOW and ASSOCIATE with in my 'world' are just stunned by Michael Vicks sadistic treatment of his dogs. Abusing, starving, torturing, electrocuting, and fighting dogs is so reprehensible to us, that we cannot contain our disgust and hatred of Michael Vick and others like Michael Vick. Picturing those dogs going into the cage and fighting to PLEASE their monster master, then being hung because they didn't perform well enough, THEN the ones who survived the hanging having their heads submerged in water until they drowned has fostered the hatred for any man, especially considering he was a millionaire who could have been ENTERTAINED by ANYTHING he may have chosen, who would be involved in something as despicable as dogfighting. Considering he was involved in this blood sport for SIX years, it tells us that he obviously enjoyed the torture he dished out to these dogs, and it makes me sick to my stomach. I will hate that piece of dirt named Michael Vick/Ron Mexico/Ookie until the day I die. Count on it.

I am not going to offend you by relating to you what I think SHOULD happen to Michael Vick.

Considering I do obey the LAWS of this country, because I don't want to end up in a cell next to Michael Vick, I think he should serve at least 18 months on his federal charges, 5 years on VA charges of animal cruelty, I think because he is unable to fulfill the terms of his contract with the Falcons he should return the signing bonus of $22 million. I think he should be forced to pay for the care of those 52 dogs that were taken off his property alive, including nice kennels and kennel workers who walk and care for these dogs daily until the dogs pass from a NATURAL death. The years in prison will take care of any quesion of whether or not he returns to the NFL. After he serves his time, he is welcome to live his life and find gainful employment with any company that is WILLING to have him. I doubt there will be many takers, but he has the option to seek employment. I think he should NEVER be allowed to own another animal, not even a goldfish.

I CAN AGREE WITH THAT TO A LEVEL.....THE JAIL TIME IS MY PROBLEM, WHY SHOULD HE GO TO JAIL FOR THAT LONG.........THE MAX TIME FOR CARRYING A HANDGUN IS THREE YEARS........WHY SHOULD HE GET 18MONTHS PLUS 5YRS IN JAIL...............HE SHOULD GIVE THAT 22MILLION TO HELP HOUSE OTHER ANIMALS, BUT I DON'T THINK HE SHOULD LOSE HIS CAREER BEHIND IT......THATS MY MAIN FOCUS............PARIS HILTON, MARTHA STEWART, OJ SIMPSON, KOBE BRYANT, AND MANY MORE ARE STILL HOUSE HOLD NAMES.......WHY IS VICK BEING TREATED LIKE SUDDAAM?

Let me help you... Michael Vick is a hero to MILLIONS of children- yes that spans all socio-economic and ethnic barriers. By being an NFL star, children want to replicate his behavior- hence the ungodly amount of money he is paid for endorsements. Now, all of the people you mentioned above are not stellar in the morality department, but none of them have enacted such sadistic, ritualistic inhumane treatment of defenseless creatures. Not only did Mr. Vick show no empathy or emotion toward a living creature, but he has a twisted sense of enjoyment out of the act of torturing them. This shows a sociopathic attitude, and I am not sure you can compare him to the other celebrities you mentioned. As for OJ, he was tried and found innocent, and barring my personal opinion, I have to let him live as a free man. Vick admitted to these crimes against nature- and he should pay the price. Does that answer it for you?

yes, u answered alot for me and i thank u very much..............I think I just don't like to see people put in jail for things that they can get help with..............i did five years myself and thats why i try to let people know that jail don't change no one it only makes u more insane..........only thing i see people can do after leaving jail is go back be-cuzz society don't have nothing to offer ex-offenders..............try to go to radioshack.com and do a application......when it ask if u ever been convicted say yes and put down something like robbery theft or stolen somthing and watch how fast the application process cut u off..........jail is not the place for certain accounts
