Do you think most reality based shows bring out the worst in people?

With the exception of the on air talent contests, I believe that the reality based contests like survivor, solitary and big brother bring out the worst qualities in the people that compete. It just solidifies my belief that money is the root of all evil. I am not saying that people with money are evil, I am saying that when evil occurs, many times money or greed is at the root. These people on these shows stoop to being disloyal, they lie, they conspire, they set people up. It is a criminal mind at work. I cant even bear to watch them. I dont think there is anything strategic about winning the contest I think you just have to be a worse person. You just have to be willing to compromise your morals. What do you think?

    if anything it just catches people being themselves unedited. Everyone is so P.C. now smile in your face and talk behind your back. Reality tv just captures human nature.

    I love Survivor and big brother look forward to them all year long..I do think putting a bunch of strangers on an island or in a house for 39 days or so; To see how they get along,see true colors come out..I honestly do believe it can be a exprience good or bad;but that person could walk away having learning something about them selves that they did not now before or push themselves to great limits that they did not realize they could be so strong and endure so much.. My kids and i enjoy them as a family .The challenges are always somethings difficult and challenging their minds or bodys..Thank good-ness for our freedom and this web site..thanks for letting me voice my opinion.

    I fail to see any reality in any of these shows. The reality really is that TV is forcing the cheapest shows at us.
    Look back a few years and notice how most of the top shows that we've had on TV were first produced and developed by the BBC. It's not that we don't have the talent right here at home it's simply the dollar.
