Carmelo Kiyan Anthony is an american basketball player in the NBA, playing for the Denver Nuggets. Carmelo or "Melo", has played with the Nuggets since entering the NBA, this will be his 8th year. Melo has played college ball with Syracuse University and lead the school into their first NCAA championship. He was named MVP of the tournament. After he entered the 2003 NBA draft.
Since entering the NBA, he has lead the Nuggets to the playoffs each time. He made the All-Rookie team, 3 year All-Star, and 4 time All-NBA team. He is a member of the USA National Men's Team. Getting a bronze metal at the 2004 Olympics and a gold metal at the 2008 Olympics.
In his rookie season, he averaged of 21.0 ppg during season. The Nuggets were eliminated, first round of playoff by topseed Minnesota Timberwolves. Melo's playoff average was 19 pts, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists. He was the first rookie to lead a team to the playoffs.

He was named All-NBA Third Team. Denver won the Northwest Divison, first in his career. Nuggets were eliminated by the Los Angeles Clippers that year. In the end of the season he signed a 5 year extension.
Fourth season, 2006-07, he was involved in the Knicks-Nuggets Brawl, where he punched the face of New York's Mardy Collins then backing away. This year was his first year as an All-Star. He received Player of the Week Honors, and Player of the Month of April. At the end of the season he became the second leading scorer behind Kobe Bryant, averaging 28.6 pts, 8.6 rebounds, and 1.2 assists. Nuggets were eliminated once again in the first round of the Western Conference Playoffs.
Fifth season, 2007-08, it was his second year as an All-Star and first year as a starter. He got the most votes as a forward and second overall to Western Conference players. Nuggets ended with 50 wins this year and 8th seed for playoffs, meaning all teams won 50+ more games. For the 5th consecutive year, the Nuggets were eliminated first round of playoffs.
Sixth season, 2008-09, temmate Allen Iverson was traded for Chauncey Billups. The Nuggets won 1st place for the Northwest Divison and 2nd in the Western Conference. Dealing with injury, in the end he averaged 22.8 ppg. After losing 5 consecutive times in the first round, the Nuggets advanced in the playoffs. Nuggets advanced to the conference finals, but eliminated by the Los Angeles Lakers on his birthday.
Seventh season, 2009-10, Melo was named NBA Player of the Week and Western Conference Player for the month of November. For the second year in a row, he was named starter for the All-Star game and leading votes for forwards. Also, for the second year in the row, the Denver Nuggets were name first for the Northwest Divison. With Coach Karl gone due to neck and throat surgery at the end of the season and playoffs the Nuggets did not play to their full potential. Losing to the Utah Jazz in the first round.
Carmelo Anthony is an All-Star leading the Denver Nuggets in several records. This year will be his consecutive year with the Nuggets. They have offered him a 3 year extension to the 2014 season. He has not given the program an answer yet, stating that "he's taking his time and having a great deal of thought with consideration of his family and friends." There are hints of him rejecting the extension, since his mansion is now on the market. If he does reject the extension he will be the biggest name for the free agent market.
Carmelo Anthony is one of the BIGGEST names in NBA, he belongs with Denver and the people. He is my favorite player even though my favorite team is the Los Angeles Lakers. I think he should stay with Denver, he has an amazing career with them, plays well with the team, and gets along with Coach Karl. I highly think that he will not pull a Lebron James and will stick with his family in Denver.
What do you think? Will he stay or will he go?

If you think about it melo is a ball hogger and we know the nuggets didn't get that in the playoffs after losing their first round to utah.melo should stay with his contract this year 10-11 season and if the nuggets go further in the playoffs than they did the past two years melo is stuck in Denver for his life because Denver is that good. It'd always been about melo and he thinks he's a good as he isreply
